The single biggest improvement anyone can make to their cars is tires. Get some sticky rubber and you'll far improve your car's performance more than an intake.

I'm in Miami. Previously owned a VW R32.

Hey Mike, where in Miami are you? I plan on driving the car plenty as it's going to be my daily driver. I definitely want some good wheels/tires for the grip, and I'm aware that it really increases the driving performance of the car. Motor Trend actually did a really nice video review where they drove the car with stock setup, then with some performance tires and wheels and shaved off 1.8 seconds from their track time.

Any one have any experience with the HPS Silicone Tubing mixed with a drop in filter like the Perrin Filter?

Also, what are other things I can do.......better performance oil? Gasoline? There is a station here that sells 95 octane. It's unleaded and meant for auto's so I was considering even trying that too.
There is really no need for a silicone inlet yet, and better brands then what you are looking at anyway. All they do is keep temps down which wont really benefit you right now. As far as oil, OEM is never wrong. You will get 100 different opinions on oil from 99 people, so YMMV. Gas, nothing higher than 93 will really benefit you as the car is not tuned for it.

DO NOT mess with the suspension. There is no need. Every suspension mod will change the cars handling charactoristics. If it does not suit your driving style you will hate it and it could be dangerous. Some people like understeer, some oversteer. It all depends. Drive it stock and learn what you want from the car. Read part reviews and figure it out from there or ask specific feedback in tech sections to get appropriate respsonses.

I put on the Subaru underbody panels that (as I understand it) are standard everywhere except US & Canada. In addition to reducing drag a little, my impression is they significantly reduced cabin noise.

They can not, by law, void your warranty for aftermarket parts without proof. They have to prove that the part caused the damage.

Now that doesn't mean you can get a turbo kit and get the boost all turnt up and expect them to warranty the drivetrain. But it also means that they can't void the warrant for the engine because you installed coilovers, or the transmission because you have a K&N intake.

But Just like you I'll be picking one up for my birthday as well coming Feb.

Welcome, sir. I hope you are able to figure out what direction you want to go with applying additional upgrades to the car. Do you know what you want to start with? Do you have a budget in mind off the bat or are you thinking of incrementally building the car up?

Just drive the car stock for a few months. Id recommend eventually doing some suspension and bushing upgrades. Those will be the most fun. The stock shocks are surprisingly phenomenal. I have swift springs that actually did tighten the car up a bit and gave it the much needed drop. For now... the best of the best go fast upgrades have not been produced in my opinion. The platform is far too new.

@Trmx2 welcome! Some folks worry too much about modifying their car from day one. Consider spending 6-12 months with it, getting to know the car, then you will feel what needs to be changed to suit your personal preferences. Sometimes all it takes is a different rear-view mirror (look up "frameless mirror" it looks way cool!) or interior color (look up "black interior panels").

That's cool and all, but for a street car maybe lap times are not the most important factor.

Food for thought.

So you're saying not to mess with it at all? I've heard that too what about the eibach springs they just give it a modest drop and I've read slightly improve the handling a bit sacrificing anything. I'm not sure if that's all hearsay or not though.

I didn't want to actually touch the suspension at all, just the tower and sway bars and such.

How do I want the car to drive....hmmm, I want a reasonably stiff, low center of gravity (lower than it is now) that is nimble around small winding roads and also good in the city/suburbs. It's my daily driver, I commute in it 5x a week too sometimes in traffic.

I want the car to have more power and a little more aggression to it. Nothing major, maybe increase the quickness of acceleration and a little bit of power. I'm keeping it n/a so no turbo for me.

I also like parts that are strong, light, and reliable. If that means swapping out brake cables for heavy duty cables, or installing a stronger shift spring, or better bushings then I am likely to do it.

What I've noticed is that I want the shifter to actually be tighter and shorter. I want better braking power I've actually been underwhelmed with the braking power so that is definitely something I want.

For aesthetics I also want wheels tires.

I want more growl out of the car, but I want it to have functionality too. I just am nervous about all this "tuning" I hear you need to do when you get exhaust and CAI. I don't want to mess with something I'm not familiar with.

I'm not interested in installing electrical components other than maybe HIDs because I hate having new switches and wires to conceal. It's not my thing.

I want some nice seat covers (the SARD ones are really nice) these are purely aesthetic obviously.

Idk...there is a whole list of things I currently want.

I want the car to look mean, aggressive, and have the aggression to back up it's looks.

I'm realistic and know my car won't gain 100hp or anything. I just want it to be a very sexy and well put together car (and it already is all of those things already)

This is good to know. It does still worry me, they're a company and companies pull some wacky shit.

Well it wasn't my B-Day it was just a Halloween present haha. I trick or treated by signing a 6 year finance LOL

You're gonna love the car when you get it. It's so much fun to drive.
