Anyone with a stock FRS/BRZ looking to help us out? We just came out with our catless front pipe, and we are looking to use a stock car to do back to back dyno and possibly sound videos with. If there is anyone willing to do so, we are more than happy to compensate. Please PM me if you are interested. Thanks!

Most of the metro area got less then an inch and it's already melted off streets and sidewalks.

Hey all, I'm Emma, and I just joined a few months ago, just thought i would introduce myself and check in to the minnesota crew. You can find me on MNSubaru too.

I got myself a Lightening Red BRZ limited. I absolutely love it so far. I haven't done any mods to it yet, maybe next spring, since I wont be driving it this winter.

For all the people considering storing their cars for the winter, what kind of insurance/coverage are you opting for?
My car is financed and hence comprehensive+collision is mandatory..

Any ideas for reducing the insurance premium while the car is stored?

I have always done storage insurance on my old S2000. I believe it was around $35 per month.

You would only need to get comprehensive. No collision and liability. It's only mandatory if your lien holder requires it. I'd call and explain your situation (storing your car for the winter) and see if they allow you to buy comprehensive insurance only. If they allow it, tell your insurance company your lien holder is ok with comprehensive only.

Yeah, if you don't have a lien on it.

I had a lien on it, both my S2000 and old Mazdaspeed Protege had liens on them when I did storage insurance. But maybe they were breaking the rules?

You can pay for 'storage' insurance even if you have a lien on your car. Just saying that your lien holder would prefer to know since they have financial interest in your car in case anything happens to it. I think some lien holders require you to have full coverage even if you're going to store it for the winter. Just depends on your lien holder.

I just don't want to deal with any mess OR me having to spend big bucks if something happened to the car while it's stored (stolen/hit by the other car that parks). Don't want to be risking anything there!

Guess I will have to call them up and inquire about it. Will keep my fingers crossed and hope they will agree..

BTW, I got the Dr.Colorchip touch-up paint set in the mail yesterday, will have to try it out and see in the evening!

I would call your lien holder like other people had said, it's really up to them. I would explain that you wont drive it and that it'll be safe and sound so they don't get worried if you really want to save some money on insurance over the winter.

Anybody want some stock tires? $250
