On this same dyno, our car made 188whp on premium gasoline with the addition of test pipe, midpipes and cat-back. But it was much closer to knock limit and far more sensitive to heatsoak and fuel quality. So with fewer mods and e85, the car makes 12whp more peak power (and a lot more area under the curve) and does so more comsistently and smoothly.

Shiv-mon.... How is the noise with the headers and the stock muffler? Is it a middleground for sound between the exhaust mods you were running before and stock/stock? I'd be willing to toss headers on and ditch the nameless axelback if the sound is a decent amount louder than stock (which is too quiet w/o the sound tube). Got to keep those neighbors happy too
Thx!

I have similar mods on my car and I get anywhere from 21–25mpg, depending on how much stop-n-go traffic I get stuck in.. most of the time, it's 23-24 mpg since I drive ~70% hwy. I don't drive too aggressively, but I like to floor it when I get a clear stretch of road.

E85 is a full $.96 cheaper than Premium at the station at the end of my road. It is encouraging to hear that it is just about ready. I'm hoping to pick up an OFT in the next few months after a decent set of winter tires.

I hope that helps. |

Based on the post by @toekneehair adopted for NY prices and Mileage based on my driving (hitting redline ever drive at least a couple of times):
Edit: I calculated Price Per Mile Differently than above. I did Price Per Gallon divided by MPG. BRZ Fuel Tank capacity = 13.2 Gallons Average "Empty" Fill = 10 Gallons E85 = $2.95 Premium = $3.91 = $3.10 Average 93 Octane Economy = 29mpg 29 - 25% = 21.75 Adjust E85 Mileage --------------------------------------- Tank of Premium = 10 x $3.91 = $39.10 Tank of E85 = 10 * $2.95 = $29.50 --------------------------------------- Average Price Per Mile on Premium = $0.1348/Mile Average Price Per Mile on E85 = $0.1356/Mile --------------------------------------- Difference on Quoted Gas Prices is literally less than a cent for my driving. With a smaller difference in price, higher jump in prices, or bigger drop on efficiency it would be less worth it, but for some reason, I don't think I would drop far below 24mpg. That would bring me down to 12.12 cents per mile. On a different note, the worst case scenario is still better than my other beloved vehicle. I get ~$0.18 - $0.20 cents per mile in my Wrangler Rubicon. |

The Phantom ESC doesn't have an official price yet because it hasn't been released for production.
It's also the least expensive FI option available, which has been shown to give about 50 whp and 50 wtq. Estimated prices have been speculated at around $1,800... but it's still too early to tell. So again... huh? |

To answer your question... I have already been quoted and the unit itself at the time costed $1,400, not including the batteries. Also, its a sub-FI option to be more exact. It acts more like NOS than anything else, which if you're into that type of short term burst of power, to each his own. It is a nice product and I think it is a great option but I think a more fair price should be $999. For $1,400 you can stay NA, still gain 40 whp, and still spend less. Moreover, that +40 whp is at your disposal at any time, while the Phantom's is only at your disposal every charge, which only last around 1 minute. To me,@ $999 it better competes with other power options (not including full FI kits) and feels more balanced when I begin to compare options, which everyone will inevitably do.
