@overlookedx

Yep, like B said we all mostly called it quits before the last session and started to pack up. A few more hard-core driving junkies like @RehabJeff86 and @Doborder stayed to finish the last sessions though.

Big thanks to NCRC for putting on another great track day. And huge thanks to @garfull who connected us with his friend/coworker Alex with the beautiful white Datsun 240Z, and his family who graciously shared their food, water, and shade with us under the tents! Another thank you goes out to fellow BRZ owner Adam ( @AyJay ) who brought out his extremely fast track-prepped S2000 and took many of our members out for some scary fast laps and helped share tips and advice with our drivers. Same to @sw20kosh for also taking people out for rides in his supercharged black demon. Shout out to Sandy ( @BRZkitty ) and bf Matt who brought and shared bottled water with us and Ed ( @RC51ed ) for bringing ice and helping me out with my car throughout the day.

Story and coverage is up on 86DRIVE.com!

A few more are up on the site but I will hopefully have some video to share later as well.

@RC51ed Some say... that his red racing stripes can be seen from low orbit. All we know is, he's called Ed!

I've hated this thread the past couple weeks. Post up some cool pics and stories that will make me hate it some more

Looked like everyone had a good, safe time.

For me at least, I was in 3rd through that turn. Holding redline coming up to it, let off the gas into it, then back on gas after the apex.

I wasn't going to attempt 4th flat out, as the wall immediately to the left of turn 6 kept reminding me to play it safe

For me I took it generally in 4th... since I don't have a tune I am wary of getting up to redline in 3rd, so I generally shift up early (before 7K) and then hold it in 4th up the hill (after turn 5). Some of my faster laps I did 60-66 mph through turn 6. Braking from about 80mph. Turn 6 is pretty fun, because it is cambered you can carry a good amount of speed through it. I usually just tap the brake briefly, turn in and get on the gas as soon as I'm pointed at the apex.

But hell almost every turn at Laguna is a high speed turn. Average speed of 75mph. EDIT: Not average corner speed, but overall average speed through the track

I was taking it like @overlookedx, pretty much easing up to redline in 3rd from turn 5 then slightly backing off before going into turn 6 (I love that corner too, more so than the corkscrew)

I was more worried of ending up in the gravel pit to the right. Rode that concrete and felt the rear get slightly loose on exit a couple of times.
Buttonwillow on Black Friday sounds very enticing (perfect for a long weekend). I may just try to sign up, hopefully I hadn't used up all my brownie points tho lol

With the non-stop debauchery that is thanksgiving at my house, I'm not so sure I'd be able to wake up at 3-4am (The "itis" is strong with this one)
