I might try 18x7 if I find the wheels with ofset <45 for cheap. But only because I have a set of Michelin PSS I'd rather burn than sell used at a half-off.
18x7 moves the heavy part of the wheel further from rotational center, hence increasing the rotational moment of inertia, effectively making the wheel heavier. So I wouldn't do it if I really wanted to be competitive. |

Question about the RPF-1': Do they go in and out of stock periodically? I don't need a set till spring, but I'm worried that they might be sold out when I need them.
Plan is to get the RPF-1's with 235/40 ZII's. How do guys handle the TPMS sensors and are the stock lugnuts usable with the RPF-1's? Thanks. |

If I remember correctly, Tirerack will send you open ended lugs for free that work just fine. I personally have used Motegi and Gorilla spline-drive lugs on my RPF1s and they worked great. |

The 17x7 RPF1 is only available at Tire Rack and is not in very high demand. They go in and out of availability. Nobody wants a 17x7 except for us silly stock class autocrossers.
I ordered a set last Fall with an estimated delivery date 4 weeks out. I ended up getting them a few weeks early. So they are out there, you may just need to wait and make a few calls. |

spending 800-1000 bucks to save what, 3-4 pounds per corner is harsh-browns
i think i'm just gonna continue to run my oem wheels for next season.

so i've been following this thread and feel that this is exactly the type of product i've been looking for.
a high quality damper, fully adjustable damper with dataloging capability, to be used with OEM springs. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44630 however, SCCA rules state that electronically controlled shocks cannot be used... is this a case of interpretation? If you simply remove/disable the parts that would allow you to adjust on the fly (such as removing the controls from the cockpit) then the shock becomes no different than anything else. anyone have experience in such a matter?

Yeah, without digging in to the rulebook (asking for trouble?) the way I remember the rule is "electronic" was an example. The intent of the rule is to prohibit the ability to adjust while driving.

That might work, because I believe you can use multi-adjustable shocks if you disable some of the adjustability functions.

And I think there's another problem with disconnecting...
From that thread in one of DougW's responses: "The shock disconnected is full hard." So this might be something for STX but I don't think this is a CS/RTR suspension option. |

our local autocross organizers have Yokohama as a major sponsor.. we all might get really good deals on the AD08r.. but from what i gather this tire doesn't stand up to the price and utility of the new Dunlops or RS3s
