Hmm, nice. I know too little about laser manufacturing stuff. So, err... Question barrage!

What are the capabilities of a laser engraver/etcher? What dpi? What materials? How big is the machine? Voltage required? Operating costs? How much monies? How are parts clamped? Etc...

I'll do my best.

Capabilities are endless when you talk about different machines with different wave lengths. The lasers I program are mainly marking (etching) lasers, but we also have a cutting laser. The materials we mainly mark are stainless steel & aluminum, parts are usually anodized black (the laser turns the black anodize white, gives it a nice contrast). The machines we use are quite big, Probably 6' wide x 6' deep x 8' tall. I can get you the voltage on Monday. Operating costs aren't too bad. The company Rofin sells warranties with their machines, and you can schedule someone to come every 6 months to perform preventative maintenance. The lasers we bought were in the $150,000 range. We clamp some parts (and fixture others), but most parts are just benched against 2 rails (in the shape of a L), so we have a good 0 location when programming parts.

Truthfully, i prefer a manual in traffic because I engine brake to slow down in and it keeps me entertained. And if anything, it builds skill because you are forced to learn your biting point perfectly.

Manual makes driving better, always. Auto makes driving less better, always.

My 2 cents.
The manuals they had, were not really taken care of and much more than the taken care of automatics haha. So I got the auto.

In a year I will switch to manual DON'T WORRY

Total agree. Hell, driving stick in traffic is better than sitting there hating your life with nothing to do other than get on Facebook and bitch about the traffic you're currently sitting in.

Has anyone else noticed that when you search by image on Google, and then go to "visually similar," the majority of the pictures are Asian people? Like... a disproportional amount in relation to how many people in the world are Asian.

I'm under the impression that every time some non-Asian person in the world uploads a photo to the internet, someone in Japan uploads 6.

For example, here are the results from my own FT86Club avatar:
