Exhaust Tip Help?

So I've been looking into getting some better looking exhaust tips for my car. I'm not in the financial situation to afford a new exhaust anytime soon so would like hear your guys suggestions! I've been really considering between the JDM exhaust tips or any other aftermarket tips(Perrin, DC Sports, etc). In terms of build quality and overall look, which do you guys think is better? I've heard that the JDM exhaust tips do stick out a bit but I heard you just have to push it all the way past the bolt or something? Thanks!

I'd suggest slowly saving up your money for a cat-bat or axel back... The price for tips like you mentioned will put you at least a 6th of the way there! Slowly save, and get something nice that will last and benefit you and the car! WOOT WOOT!

I absolutely LOVED the JDM exhaust tips back when I didn't have an AM exhaust. I thought it really complimented the car's body in a subtle way, like the spoiler (IMO). Heck if there was a way to weld those tips to my current exhaust without affecting performance, I'd do it.

I got some tip from the auto zone. They look great. They did not cost a lot. However, I will get the new cat back later. I can wait. Save up and then get the new system.

Need to redo to add a shim so clamp tightens a little better, but that's it.

Jdm. I went through my loud exhaust phase and after a couple road trip(not frs) the constant drone drove me and the wifey crazy. The only exhaust I'd get now is a Corsa. The sound is awesome and zero drone. Although this is on a v8, not so sure how it would sound on a 4 banger and I doubt they will ever make a FRS/BRZ system.

Still love my Perrin tips. Not interested in aftermarket systems, just wanted to get rid of the anemic 'Legacy' tips that came on the car. Great quality, simple to install and easy to maintain so they always look good.

There are occasionally used ones available at a good discount as people who had them eventually upgrade their entire system. Well worth the wait IMO.

Don't spend a lot on tips if cash is right. I bet if you hunt around Pep Boys or one of those places you can find nice tips for the $50 range per set.

For the price of JDM tips you can get a Berk muffler delete (not recommending you do).

Your doubt will be short lived. I emailed Corsa last week asking them if they have plans to make an exhaust for the FRS/BRZ since they currently make an exhaust for the Subaru Impreza. Here is my email and their response.

My wife, our two sons, and myself are huge fans of your exhaust and the way it sounds. We have Corsa on both of our Dodge Challengers. My sons are each looking to buy a Scion FRS. We see that you make exhausts for the Subaru Impreza. With the popularity of the FRS and its twin the Subaru BRZ growing so quickly, we wanted to see if you have any plans to make an exhaust for these cars? Thank you

First off let me say that we truly appreciate your business.
As you mentioned the FRS, BRZ and Toyota 86 are incredibly popular vehicles and just in the last month we’ve entered into the Subaru marketplace and have done so with a pretty robust response from the market. As you know we aren’t always first to market with our exhaust systems but when we do release the systems we deliver on our promise of a robust sound and a no drone driving experience.

As the saying goes “Timing in life is everything” and your timing is incredibly solid. At this juncture we are planning to release an exhaust system to the market for the Toyota 86, Subaru BRZ, Scion FRS by the middle of November. We just finished our off tool build a week ago and thus validated and finalized the last step of our product development process. No later than December you should see this system in the marketplace once our distributors have updated their websites and loaded their products accordingly around $999.99.

Thank you again for your business and be on the lookout for this system as it will definitely be out before the end of the year.
