Been there, done that. I can school anyone in UT/2k3/2k4/UT3 or QIII, but I don't miss it whatsoever. I know plenty about posture from lifting.

I got an extra week to wait, but my launch XBO will be coming with Dead Rising 3, Forza 5, and CoD Ghosts.

If it were ten years ago, I'd definitely take you up on the UT or Q3 matches. I never joined a clan or anything in UT, but I was decently good. Loved telefragging people, and Facing Worlds is probably my favorite map ever.

Trick was to place a teleporter by your base, try and get the flag without dying and instantly teleport back to score. :P Though sniping was KING on facing worlds. Lots of little spots that are less than obvious you could float between that would keep counter-snipers on their toes.

That's what I did as well. Sat in hidden spots and sniped. Eventually would run down and grab a Redeemer as it spawned and then drive that thing up into the base to kill as many as possible.

Driveclub was cool but it's definitely not my favorite of the ones I have played. Then again, the last racing game I enjoyed was Extreme G on the N64.

I didn't think anyone else ever played that! I remember that being one of my favorites! Was a lot like Wipeout (which was amazing on PS1 but sucked from then on till PSN releases on PS3) but a different feel and little easier control.

I've found the more 'realistic' a racing game is, the less I enjoy it. Since you can't feel the forces you normally would when driving a car, it just always feels awkward to me. Maybe I'm just terrible at them...

So Best Buy has a demo Xbox One on display, plus the Kinect. Now the bad part.. it's not hooked up and there are no controllers. Way to be a cocktease, Best Buy. :P

So apparently Driveclub being pushed back was because when they said the game was only 30% (whatever it was?) finished they weren't kidding. There have been a good amount of updates to it, and now it's, imo, the most graphically-impressive next gen racer. Couple of in-game updates from NeoGAF:

Good news! NFS has been bumped up and is now a PS4 launch title.

Also, here's a direct link (since their servers are being ruined) to Killzone multiplayer footage. 1080p 60fps, so play it in Windows Media Player or Quicktime, since hardware acceleration is necessary to view it. ~550 MB file, minute and a half long or so.

So I'm hearing that CoD Ghosts is generally good (with the exception of the Destructoid review), but there's some not so great news about next gen. The PS4 version has some framerate dropping issues, and there are rumors that the XBO version does as well. The PS3 and 360 versions do not have those issues and run at fluid 60fps.

Bad optimization by IW? Rushed game? Dunno, they're milking an old, old engine so you'd think they'd have it nailed down by now.

edit: I should just make a PS4 thread, and then someone who's getting the XBO can manage one of those too.

I would rather have silky smooth framerate and 720p than clunky slow 1080p. Glad I'm getting the XBO version.

True. Problem is that nobody knows. The info is still embargoed and there are rumors that it happens on both next-gen systems, and the only ones immune to it are the current gen.

There are also rumors that the PS4 is overheating, but it seems they're all friend of a friend said that this is happening.

Another article I read yesterday said that the rumors are unsubstantiated.
