I know that Car and Driver and Motortrend have both tested 3500 versions.

Motortrend had an article up about the 2.0T and it was sitting near 3400. The 2.0T R-spec is mid 3300's according to Motortrend.

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...take-road-test

Some of the published weights I've seen are as low as mid 3200's for the 2.0T, but others are much higher.

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...take-road-test

And here's a 3480 curb weight for the base 3.8

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...ritical-page-2

Base versions of the V8 stang weigh in the high 3500's, while loaded versions are about 50lbs heavier.

So yeah, between top-end versions of the car, there's about a 100-130lb difference

Admittedly, Hyundai did a hell of a lot better job getting weight out of their sedan platform than Chevrolet did with the Camaro. It's still within spitting distance of the Mustang though. Within around 3% in comparable trims.

Maxim that car that you posted as BASE isn't a BASE. LOOK at the article again. It's a Lime Rock Green 3.8 TRACK model. That is the heaviest GC model. I really don't think you guys on this site have a clue about the GC other than the GC followers like me and a couple other guys here.

2.0t starts at 3,294 lbs. Base
2.0t automatic is 3,362 lbs Base
3.8 V6 manual is 3,389 lbs Base
3.8 V6 auto is 3,397 lbs Base

Adding the Sports pkg(R-Spec) adds 40 lbs
Adding the Premium pkg with Nav adds 40 lbs

So basically a 3.8 track(R-Spec+Premium combine) adds 80 lbs to the base curb weight.

Again I have been following this car since it was under wraps just like the FR-S. Anything you guys don't know I am all ears.

We were talking about the 2010-2012 models.

If you noticed none of the cars we were quoting was a 2013 model because it hasn't dropped yet.

But on another note the new model weights sucks. Thank god I only like the 2010-2012 models. Hyundai is fucking up the car with more weight.

At this point, we should only compare 2012 model, since 2013 Mustang numbers are not up yet.

Note, Hyundai really screwed the new model by adding up more weight, but hp crowd will be pleased with the numbers.

Yeah we were comparing 2010 GC vs 2011 Stang. I'm glad I no longer like the GC after the 2012 models. Hyundai drop the ball with stupid 8 speed transmissions and a retarded front end.

I see.
Hyundai is trying to achieve high mpg by adding 8spd, but it's annoying for a car with that much power. Even the one in IS-F is kinda a bit annoying too.

Not at all, typically what we do is we just exclude what you came in for if we notice signs of tampering in general. It doesn't have to be modded but if it is modded or simply aftermarket it isn't expected to be covered under warranty. At the same rate, we don't void the entire warranty, we just don't warranty that specific job.

Example:

Right front door speaker connector and wiring are damaged/burned. Warranty job

Cash job

I'm well aware of that, but weren't we talking about powertrain warranty? If I reflash/ecu tune my car, I void warranty. no?

You have to keep in mind that the majority of people that buy automobiles don't modify them.

Hyundai has the better warranty.

To me, warranty is nothing. I keep my car unmod for 3 or 4 years at best. Satisfied?

Well seeing as the genesis has a locked ECU and you have to piggyback it then no. But if the tune ends up ruining other components like getting your valves, plugs and such covered in carbon then getting that carbon cleaned / plugs cleaned or replaced won't be covered.

Simple solution, pull the piggyback before you take it in. That's what I did with my SVT. What they don't know won't hurt em.
