XXR 527/530 Gallery

I just sat down and read through the whole thread for last 90 minutes or so..
there were so many information to take in and so many good looking rides!

i've found some answers but still left with some questions.
please understand that I am a noob at this.. first, let me list out the things i noticed/learned

1. i love 527 looks
2. i am going to keep stock tire, and stretch on 17x8.25 looks ok to me.
3. i am not going to lower my car (i already have hard time driving my car around)
4. if i am buying this wheel, i need to purchase lug-nuts that fits and hubcentric ring

questions
1. TPMS, can they be transferred to new wheels and cause no problems?
2. from my understanding of "off set" +35 will make the wheel poke 'less' than the +25.. am I correct? (i don't like poke at all)
3. does anyone know a retailer in southern california who carries XXR? (if not, where's a good place to look?)
4. what does hubcentric rings do?

I am also a noob but ive been reading a lot about wheels lately so heres what i know.

1. tpms, yes it can be transfered.
2. the less offset the more it will poke out. so +25 offset will poke out more than 35.
3. get the wheels offline fron nlmotoring.com and put the coupon code i think is 25xxxr or xxr25.
4. idk lol all i know is that i ordered some for my wheels havent arrived.

addition: you will also need to get aftermarket lug nuts for your new wheels, you can get tunner lug nuts 12x1.5 set of 20.

Ok, get some camber bolts (or factory 'crash' bolts) up front and get it aligned. The camber will tuck your wheels in and it will look and fit better. Max out your camber with the bolts and you'll probably be ok - if you need more you'd have to probably slot your struts a little or get some camber plates.

3. Check out LSD Motorsports in Cypress. Tell them I referred you
4. Will help prevent vibrations and stuff from wheel, you don't need them, but I would recommend. It's pretty cheap anyway.

I'm lowered an inch on H&R Sports and it was pretty low on stock wheels, but I got 18x8.75 +35 on 225/40 and it raised my car up a bit lol.

Hm you can but you don't need it if you don't want. I poke a tiny bit but I don't mind it. Since you're lower than me, you probably have slightly more natural camber.

This thread is pretty expansive. I'm new to the wheel/tire world. I like the look of these wheels. Just a couple of questions for anyone willing to help the n00b....


1) Where are you guys buying them from (i.e. who has the best prices)?
2) The size that seems to be most popular is 18.x8.75 ET35 so what all is required to have these mounted? (hub centric rings, spacers, tuner lugs, tires, TPMS sensors, etc?) If hub rings and spacers are necessary, can you be specific as to which model/part number you suggest unless universal.
3)Which size tires do you recommend?

2) you're going to need tuner lugs set of 20 12x1.5. i just found out that hub centric rings arent necesary as mention on the post above this one. so hub size is 73 and 56.1 if im not wrong look it up in this thread.

1. Best places to buy XXR Wheels

2. Hub centric rings help the wheel center on the hub. Once lugs are tightened it serves no purpose.
   1. As stated its 73.1mm / 56.1mm for FT86.
3. Recommended wheel/tire configurations
   1. 18x8.75 wheel / 235/40/18 tire
   2. 18x7.5 wheel / 225/40/18 tire
4. I believe lugs nuts should be 12x1.25 (not 1.5 as stated)
5. Offset is personal choice. A +10 offset will push a wheel outward 20mm more than a +30 wheel.

1. nlmotoring, tirecrazy also has them. I bought mine from a local shop, I would recommend that, maybe they can set you up with a deal on wheel/tire combo.

2. hub rings (73.1 to 56.1). lug nuts (the shop I bought it from just gave them free with purchase 12x1.25) Dont need spacers, you don't need hub rings either, but recommended. The shop will switch the TPMS over for you. The shop I was at had the hub rings, not sure what brand.

3. with 18x8.75 go with 225/40 or you can also do 235/40 if you want.

Nah you don't need them, but if you don't like the poke you currently have then you need camber bolts.

As you lower, the rears will gain quite a bit of camber, but not the fronts - so you need the bolts to adjust and bring the tops in flush with the fenders. The factory crash bolts would be all you need, and they're very cheap... alignments aren't cheap so IMHO it's best to spend the few bucks and have them on hand when you get aligned. That way if you need them to dial in camber they can do it. Also a little bit of front camber will help the car handle better with your lowering springs.

I run 235/40/18 and i'm about lower on sportlines which is about 1.4 inch drop, can you explain what the crash bolts do?
