Sounds nice.

And to answer the OP's question - yes I have thought about it. One time when I though a police man was turning around to give me a speeding ticket, I turned off the road and left the area. No big speed chase or anything crazy. I guess that was more "avoiding" than "running!" Hahaha

Only time I ran from the cops I was on foot. There is a police blotter out there somewhere so I obviously didn't get away.

YES. I have. About 13 years ago. He was parked on the side of a rural road. I passed by at about 90, once I saw him I kept the car above 125mph. I got away, but this style of driving led to other legal problems.

Lost my license. And went to jail. Sooooo. Lesson learned. Be careful out there.

This is probably one of the most entertaining threads I've read on this site. Just when I thought things were getting a little boring...

That's why I think this is one of the best communities/forums I've been on!

Anyway, I suppose I'll chip in as well.

When I was about 17 (just gotten my license, but had been driving for a while before that), I had a 2000 red Civic coupe with an AT, which I only had for a few weeks. I was showing off to some girls (HS, you know how it goes) who were in the car next to me by revving the engine, thinking I was cool because I had a ride and not everyone else did. Anyway, I was in neutral, and when the light turned green, I shifted up and kept my foot on the gas. Anyone see where I went wrong?

Yeah, I went into reverse (I am pretty used to driving a stick, so you might see where I could get this wrong), slammed into the front of the 3-series BMW behind me and threw the shifter back into drive, knowing pretty instantly what happened. The guy in the BMW pulls to my right side and is screaming to pull over. By this point, the girls are gone and I know I'll be in for some real trouble. The guy is fuming and I'm rolling because this happened right before a left-turn only onto a freeway onramp and traffic is starting to move so I do as well. He's yelling "get out of your car" and "I'm going to sue you!" and all sorts of stuff similar to that, and with a friend in my car we decide to hop the the freeway and run it. bear in mind this is about 7:00 PM and it is dark outside. I'm flying down the freeway and my friend says "turn your lights off", so like a stupid kid, I do and we're going about 90-100 down the 101 in a car with practically no lights, being chased by the guy in the BMW.

About an exit later, the guy starts slowing down and I see cop lights around where he was and I decide to take the next exit, find the closest parking lot, drive to the back and park the car. I see the guy pulling off the exit, and see that he has to step out of his car. I was about 100 feet away from this, practically watching from across the street as he got a ticket for speeding (or reckless driving, I don't know). I'm sure he told the cop what happened and I'm not sure he got my plate number because my lights were off. Never heard anything about that again, but I'll write that one off to total dumb luck.

That was about 10-11 years ago, and I haven't really had any other stories since. Maybe a few where I've gotten a break, but none that I was actively running.

Really expensive ticket or battle with the concept of possible anal rapage in prison? That's the real question, because running from the cops is a FELONY (minimum 1 year in prison, not county lockup or jail....but PRISON") I'll take my chances with the ticket.

Got away from a possible speeding ticket before. I was doing 70mph+ on a 55 service road with turns, valleys and hills. He was coming from the opposite direction so didn't see him until it's too late. I flew by him and gave out that "Oh sh*t! I'm f8cked". I passed him about 1/4" mile, checked my rear-view mirror and saw him making a fast U with lights flashing. Didn't even bother slowing down or anything and just gun-it to 90mph+. I kept going for 2-3mins, took a right turn into a random gravel road. I brake so hard my car was sliding side-way a few times, as if I was doing rally racing. Took a few more turns, pulled over into a ranch and parked there for a good 20mins.

I'd rather not say why, but the sirens didn't sound until after an action I had done. I know for a fact that they were coming for me
