I would also recommend starting with autocross.
Autocross skills translate very well over to track experience, since you learn how your car reacts in emergency situations at slower speeds in a safe environment. On a track, if you screw up you are doing 100+mph potentially into a wall... Having an autocross or two under your belt will help a ton. |
