Yeah, it's a long way down so it needs to be well respected. Honestly, I like going up the hill better because it's not as scary. Going down, I sometimes stop halfway down and let my brakes cool off if I'm really going hard at it. I definitely got a spongey pedal in my MR2 once, and it wasn't very comforting.

Yeah, coming down Old 421 in my old RSX I about caught the brakes on fire, def not a fun feeling...The rotors were almost solid red

Update: so my route that included hwy 36 here in Colorado is reopening tomorrow after repairs from flood and here is what the aftermath looked like last month
