The noise has been dampened through insulation, there is no change in the mechanics of the part.

Guys, I had the new pump installed last week. Only put 100+ miles on it, but still quiet. Fingers crossed.
My squeaking windows were also an issue and they replaced both window assemblies, glass and all. It has the made in japan stickers on the triangle shaped window. Just rained for the last 2 days and no squeaks ![]() If you are in San Diego, Trudy in service at Bob Baker Toyota Lemon Grove, took care of these issues for me in conjunction with mulitple calls to Scion. She said for others to call and bring them in. Excellent experience working with her. On pump number 2, she asked if I wanted it replaced at the 15k oil change without me complaining about it. |

Well I say you should get the update and if it doesn't work complain. Eventually they will realize that the changing of the pumps is costing them money and they need to redesign it correct. This is the only way they will fix it properly. If no one goes in and changes the pumps to cost them money each time and complain, what reason do they have to change it? Just my 2 cents.

Is there a link to the actual updated TSB somewhere? I feel like all you guys getting turned down by your dealerships are just getting the run around. I handed my dealership service tech the Subaru TSB 09-54-12R for crickets, while the car was running with crickets and there was absolutely no question where as before I asked them about it and they pretty much told me the whole "this is normal" thing like it sounds like you guys are getting a lot.
If someone has a link to the updated TSB please post it. If someone knows someone that has it, get it from them and post it. If someone has posted it already get a mod to update the TSB thread and tell me to stfu

Looks like cars.com just got their fuel pump changed out recently and claimed that it also makes the car run smoother. I wonder if they got the new pump?

My local dealer was exceptional in getting this fixed. They had my FR-S for about 2 days, and were in constant contact with Toyota while they troubleshot and replaced, even though the problem was known. My service person contacted me several times through the fix. Scion has contacted me 3 times to make sure that I was happy with the service when the addressed it, called again to make sure that I was satisfied will all aspects of the service, then called again yesterday to see if I was still OK. They said they will check up me in two weeks to make sure everything is working, as hoped. Scion customer service at my local dealership has been remarkable. I really can't complain about the people aspect of my problem, just the parts, i.e. pump and windows. I'll update pump noise as I drive around more. |

http://www.gt86ownersclub.co.uk/foru...66_page18.html (18 page thread of UK owners, many reporting chirps) http://*************/forum/f16/chirp...ise-poll-2309/ http://news.drive.com.au/drive/motor...010-27cbu.html (Much fewer reports, but still confirmation enough) I don't know any other languages so it'll be hard for me to search their forums, just because we haven't heard about it doesn't mean it's not happening. Edit, shit the aussie forum links don't work, the news article should be sufficient though. gt86. com. au/forum/f16/chirping-noise-poll-2309/ Last edited by strat61caster; 10-30-2013 at 01:46 PM. |

There is some ethanol here but not in the higher octane rating brews that I know of. There might well be a few cars here with the chirps but it's very much the exception and nothing like the 84% you get. I doubt it's 1% if any at all? The question is. Why 84% with chirps in the US and virtually non here and no doubt Japan too? |

http://news.drive.com.au/drive/motor...010-27cbu.html I'll do my best to get the links across, should be able to copy paste these into google and get results: gt86. com. au/forum/f16/all-gt86-owners-must-read-3164/index7.html#post39459 gt86. com. au/forum/f16/direct-injection-issues-coming-up-overseas-343/index2.html#post2136 I like how I'm linking to threads you've posted in. I guess I just haven't figured out how this is a 'fault' yet. |
