I owend a modded 95 RX7 and was in the Army. I went out with my buddy and had a few drinks (I was not drunk, but most likely would have failed a breathiizer test) and pulled into the main gate (Ft Campbell, Kentucky) and sure enough the MP's have a sobriety checkpoint setup. I really thought about turning around and gunning it... But they would get my plates and track me down... They pulled the car in front of me over, and the car behind me and let me through...

That was the last time I ever drank and drive....

I "had a friend" who used to do it all of the time, then he grew up and had a kid. He realized that it just isn't worth it.

It is very possible if there is trafic or a very curvy road.
But you always run the risk of something bad happening. It's just money. Be honest with the cop. I have gotten out of my last two. The one before that I talked a reckless driving down to a 5 over speeding ticket in court. I was just very respectful.

The first day I got on a highway with my new bright red BRZ, I got carried away. Usually I am aware of my surroundings and slow down on curves or hills that cops usually use.

Well, on that day, I was so into driving my car because I felt so engaged. Passing traffic, switching lanes without even realizing it. Next thing I know, I see flashing lights right behind me. I was shocked that I didn't even see him creeping up behind me because I usually check my rear view mirror every 4-5 seconds. I thought I was going to go to jail.

I pulled out to the left (rather than right) on gravel. Officer came up, asked me to turn off my car with an attitude (my car was off the whole time). He asked me 2 times to which I replied by saying my car was off. On the 3rd time he asked, I showed him the keys to prove that my car was actually off. He ordered me to come outside of the car. (I though I was done - going to jail). I was going 85/55; in VA 20 over the speed or over 80 is jail time and a reckless ticket.

I was polite, respectful - told him it was my new car - first time on a highway with it and that I got carried away (never admitted knowing my actual speed). After talking for about 5 mins, he asked me to stay outside the car (I had 2 colleagues in the car - client meeting). After 5 mins, he came out and said "You're lucky I have an appointment soon, otherwise I would've taken you to the jail".

No tickets, no jail. He followed me for couple of miles afterwards. All my time watching youtube videos on how to talk yourself out of a ticket finally paid me off. My colleagues were shocked and couldn't believe it.

So no, I wouldn't even think of running from them. Its easier and safer to just to try to talk your way out if it. There's plenty of Youtube videos on this.

NYPD protocol according to what a friend told me (who is a cop) is that if they signal and warn you to pull over and you speed up, they're not allowed to chase you. Because its so crowded in NY, they don't want other people getting hurt in the process of the pursuit Though some just will chase anyway. Knew someone who had a brother that passed away (according to the passenger that survived) that after running from a cop who signaled, the cop continued to chase them onto a very curvy exit on the Clearview Expressway and the car understeered and went off road into a pole.

I was driving my 04 STi stage 2 with a friend at night with my down pipe off. The car had no cats and some times i would feel like driving with no down pipe for like a week or even a month as a DD because i got bored of exhaust notes. Never got pulled over sounding like a diesel truck, but did get a lot of wtf is in that thing looks.

Well that night we decided to go to a back road outside our town that had a straight of maybe around 2 miles, to see if my friend can see fire balls coming from underneath my car haha. Well as were going on the straight, i usually cruise to make sure cops aren't there, but this time i down shifted to 2nd went WOT and let off around 100mph. As soon as we went over a little crest and a sheriff was comming the other way. As we passed each other, he smashed on the brakes and attempted to uturn. But as soon as i saw his brake lights come on, i down shifted again and went WOT through the rest of the straight until we reached the entrance of the town which wasn't very far. The entrance of the town has apartment buildings on the left side, so while im still moving i turned off my lights popped it in neutral, slowly pulled my e-brake (so no brake lights would show) to slow down and entered the apartments on the left. I creeped in there trying not to wake up everyone cus open DP is still loud in neutral. Parked the car and decided to go out and see if the cop is there. My friend and I started walking, got out of the apartment complex, and as soon as we touched the sidewalk, the sheriff was literally right in front of us. He slowed down, looked at us, and went back to the straight road where we ran from. As soon as that happened we went back to my car my friend went to the road to make sure no cops were coming and i went back to my house haha.

I'm currently 3-1, but last time I ran was that 1 loss, and haven't done it since. Shit isn't good when they catch you, I can assure you. The ironic part about it is that the one time they actually caught me was the easiest to get away, I was just indecisive about which road to take and missed my turn.

That was many years ago though. Since then, I always pull over right away, roll the windows down, turn the engine off, and have my info ready. Hell the one and only time I got pulled over on my R6, I had it topped out on this long straight away out in the middle of nowhere. I saw a car coming from the opposite way, so I let off the gas. When I had idled down to about 130mph, he was close enough to realize it was a cop, so I got on the brakes like a mad man. He flashed his lights, so I pulled over right away. I was already standing beside the bike off in the grass before he got the car turned around. Clocked me at 100mph. Turned out to be the same cop I ran from many years ago, and actually caught me. So he was like, "fuck, you have one of THESE now? Well look, I appreciate you stopping because I had 0 chance of catching you, so just don't do that shit again, ok?" I said ok and never did it again.

True Story (If you're from Mass/CT you'll know the spot)
Berlin Turnpike, 4:30am. (Street races)
Car: 1999 Acura Integra b20vtec (yes, modded, yes still a Honda...)
Age: Young and dumb
So, being Friday night, it was time to do some green with the guys, meet at the usual spot and show off our rides. Tell each other about our new parts, chicks, ect. Some guy approaches me and tells me he'll race me with his eg hatch (y8 swap). Of course I know I'll destroy it, so i follow him onto the highway. We get cleared by the sweeper (99 camaro) and I warm my tires (conti-pros) Got launch control ready and launched at 4500RPM. Guess what. As soon as I hit 40mph, I hear sirens. Kept it WOT, hit 140, flew to the next exit. Immediately got on an on-ramp going the other way and proceeded to drive home. All I cared about was that I won the race, because the slow ass civic got pulled over! Hahaha.

Back when I had my BMW I was driving to my fiance-at-the-time's house. Its a good distance from my barracks and theres a long gently curving road with 55mph speed limit, usually deserted, even more so around 10pm which is when I was on the road. I was doing about 70mph, and I see headlights switch on ahead of me, perpendicular to the road.
"Ah crap, I bet thats a cop."
Well it was, lol. He pulled out after me. But I started to get heavy foot syndrome. About the time I neared ~170mph I didnt see him anymore. I thought I was going to die though, the car was twitchy as hell. I pulled into my brother in law's neighborhood a little further than my fiance's house and took a nap in his driveway, lol.

Well I was young and dumb then. Plus I had a fast car. Now? I do 5 over the speed limit and call it a day, lol.
