It's not tuned outside of just hitting safe afr's. The oiling is taken care of but it's stock. He thought about detuning it but decided to just add ballast instead.

a little off subject here, but all things considered mr @CSG Mike do you still feel the FRS is a viable weekend HPDE car sice that's not always specific to mods ect. Personally I love the car and have been saving for the brakes you suggested. Even threw on an oil cooler on to ensure my engine doesn't get too toasty. I was eventually thinking about a S/C unless the twins get their own spec for racing ill continue modding like I have no class. IE my splitter/diffusor/oil cooler and future BBKs already would put me into a class that the stok engine will have no chance of being competitive in. So as just a race for fun car do you think the FRS is viable?

@CSG Mike, Define preventative measures. I always check fluids, oil cooler and oil pressure gauge installed. Planning on oil and water temp gauges, radiator and BBks w/ cooling ducts. Anything else you recommend?

The only thing I hate about S2000, is the Nose. The Front-End Side Profile look like it is all about Head, and no Tail.
Long Head...no Tail....!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

The real weakness lies in within the engine itself. I've seen too many engine failures. I'm talking cars that are NA, or even stock, as far as the engine is concerned. I'm not sure preventative measures can be had at this point. I'd recommend a tune with a corrected transient timing table, but it's not a 100% proven fix. acab had a tune. |

Funny how this happens in the S2k thread on a the FRS/BRZ forum, rather than the BRZ/FRS thread on the s2k forum... |

Anybody know of people with a tune AND upgraded cooling running into trouble?
If I went to the track often, I would get a track car like a Thunder Roadster. Cheaper than converting a street car for track duty and proper safety, all without the compromises of a dual-use car, like bouncing around on stiff suspension with metal tubing inches from your head while commuting to work. |
