That was me...I pretty much drive through that intersection at least twice a day.

I like the wheels, those came out really bright!

Lol I'll be seeing often around there then as my gf's mom owns the nail salon at that intersection.

Yeah even at night time it's bright!

I saw a dark FR-S just now at Gilbert Crossroads parked near the Harkins. My first successful spotting in the wild since I got my car

When I was signing papers to get my BRZ repaired. Parking lot low speed crash new front pass fender, new pass headlight, new bumper......:mad02 60::m ad0260::mad026 0:

I saw dark grey metallic BRZ at Gerber Auto Collision in Avondale. Looked like it was rear ended.
Anyone?
Anyone?

It's a RHD FD3S.

The swap wouldn't cost that much, plus, as much as I'd love an FD, I'm still holding out for a mostly original RX-7 so I can build it myself, the way I want it.

Sure, you'd lose the low center of gravity, but I'd think the possible weight shift rearward would be beneficial. Sure, the rotary motor isn't always the most efficient and it tends to burn oil, but those issues have been mitigated by upgrading apex seals and proper tuning. I think it'd be a fun project...if I only had the money.
You know it burns oil because thats how it keeps the seals lubed its by design.

It also weighs more than your current engine with about 18mpg. Granted I am being nice and not bringing up the rats nest of vacuum lines or the fact that Mazda does not even make the Rotor Housings anymore so if you want to rebuild them you have to do it without the coating on the Housings which leave them to wear out even faster.

Its very common to see people buying motors that are blown to attempt to salvage housings from them. Maybe this changed in the past 2 years but well I am not so sure that would be the case.

Either way it would be a fun dream but I think you would be introducing yourself to a world of nightmares that would far outweigh the times you got to have fun... much like just owning an FD RX7 by itself.

Just food for thought, not trying to rain on your parade so to speak ideas like this can be a lot of fun.

Speaking of 13B-REW swaps...

I saw this car run during the Match Tour this weekend, holy crap!

It's a 13B-REW in a 1958 Bugeye Sprite.

If you turned right, right before that intersection you would be at my house. You will have to stop by some time.
