The OEM studs are plenty strong for the header. You will be fine with them.

So how far can I go on 550cc injectors on e85? Im guessing the 1000ccs are pretty much mandatory?

I know for a fact a car doing 440 WHP on E85, using 540 CC injectors. I would not say the 1000 cc's are mandatory.

Having too big of injectors is also a problem. When they are too big and duty cycle falls too low, they start to be inconsistent (drivability issues might arise). I wouldn't go past 700 cc unless shooting for over 600 whp. Just my personal opinion. Now when the choice is either 550 or 1K the choice is tough and I might be inclined to go with 1K.

You would be maxed out with the fuel system. We recommend 1000cc if you are running e85. It keeps the duty cycle down and everything happy.

I've been doing a lot of research on the BRZ Turbo kits, and the engines themselves, and come summer time when I buy a new BRZ, I will be purchasing the premium stage 1 kit from FBM that day. Up here in NH, we don't have E85, only 93 octane, and 1 gas station that sells 100 octane fuel.. (for $9.99/gallon).
But I am pumped, and can not wait for the summer to come, for me to grab the BRZ. I've driven one so far, and it's fun, but just too slow for my liking, so to slap a kit in here, and get an extra 100whp, I'll be thrilled! Just curious, to anyone who currently has the kit installed, how's it holding up? Any issues with the car, at all? |

there is a definite downside to bigger injectors. bigger definitely isn't always better. |
