There was a cartoon series about "crash dummies," couldn't find pics of the show itself. I think the toys exploded into pieces too

QUIZ TRIVIA TIME

as a kid, I used to watch this Japanese cartoon (or maybe an American knock off, kind of like Speedy Speed Racers or Robotec) about an aspiring formula 1 racer (or some sort of open wheel racing)

a young kid that made it to the big leagues and gets signed to a known but failing team, and the cartoon is basically about him racing

one of the key points that sticks in my mind is that for every race the team would devise some sort of cool strategy or car modification to try and beat the competition

and in a couple of episodes they did the following:

built an open wheel racer with 8 wheels (yes 8) in sequence, like the Tyrell racer

and in another they put the same 8 wheels in pairs, like the rear of an 18wheeler or similar

yes it's goofy but it was fun to watch

IF ONLY I COULD REMEMBER THE DAMN NAME

so if anyone knows... post it up

I was able to finish half an episode and it was better than I expected. Still pretty cool!!! It's no Voltron but I would watch them all.
