Pretty cool vintage Seiko there, looks nice!

I ended up ordering a Bertucci A-2T a few days ago and will update my watches when it comes in (really like how the Orient BRZ came out with the new band and clasp.), This is the one I ordered (Model 12070, a new model released this year):

Not sure Mr Daniels would approve, but I picked up a second hand (Get it? Okay maybe shoot me...) Bulova Precisionist today. Interesting watch with the 16 step second hand and 3 prong quartz oscillator, but I've heard the advertising may have stretched the truth by a lot with the +/- 10 sec/year claim, but for the money I don't think anything can touch it in the accuracy/dollar department.

And now an Omega:

~1950s Omega Century. Gold-filled, small seconds, original dial, strap and buckle aren't original. Less than what an OEM Omega steel bracelet costs these days.

That's a Very nice watch. Reminds me of the Aqua Terra, but cooler.

Thanks.

I really like the styling of 1950s watches, the only issue is that they are small. But the small seconds proportions are so perfect.

Wristwatch based modern small seconds movement watches tend to look too close to the center of the dial for me.

And the Unitas pocket watch movements are too close to the edge of the dial, unless they make the watch huge.

Compare these two Stowas:

Peuseux/ETA 7001, handwind. 35.5mm

And:

Unitas/ETA 6498.

The Unitas has ok proportions, but it's been stretched out to 41mm.

The proportions on my Gruen (far right) and the new for me Omega are exactly what works for me, but they are kind of small. The Seiko 5 on the left is listed as 37.5mm, to give an idea of scale.

I'll probably end up finding something I like, but will no doubt be out of whatever my current price range is...

You might like the German Dornbluth 99.0. It is large and beautiful, and a classic, I think.

He doesn't just drop a standard movement in the case. You, especially, might appreciate the work he and his dad put into this remarkable watch.

Take a look, and see what you think.

Okay, pictures of the Bertucci A-2T model 12070 which I just got in and some my other 2 watches. Wish the A-2T was a little larger, 40mm is kind of small to me. 42mm to 44mm is more around the minimum I like. I really like the size of my 48mm BRZ GT300 Orient (except for the horribly ugly bezel that I will eventual find some way get off, it's in the way for crown manipulation in addition to uglifying it) and installed a custom leather band and stainless deployant clasp from Strap Code.

Movement is gorgeous, looks like a very heavily modded 6498 (bridges replaced with 3/4 plate, swan neck adjust, beautiful decorations, etc...). But dial is a bit too pocket-watchy. Also I didn't check the price, but have a feeling it will be up there.

Orange Monster:

Well, a few watches to go and my 'budget' watch collection is done. Just need a SARB065 Cocktail Time Cool, SARB017 Alpinist, plus maybe an Orient Constellation GMT (if I can decide between black and white dial).

I thought I might finally post a picture of my skeleton since I'm bored and my sleep schedule is off:

You can kind of see the shitty finishing on the movement, it becomes very apparent with more lighting. It is way less accurate than my other watch, feels like it gains the same amount of time in 1-2 days as the other watch gains in a week (then again my ST2130 watch is scary accurate, within 2-3 seconds per day). I generally wear the other one since I like it more and the steel bracelet can go in the shower (lol), but for what it's worth, I got SO many comments from females about this skeleton in the 1 month that I did wear it. For attention whoring, it's hard to beat this $130 watch for bang for the buck.

You could have a go at regulating it yourself. Do you have a pic of the back?

Too lazy to post photo, but it doesn't have screws, it has 6 notches around the circumference, which I assume are for some tool that unscrews it as a whole piece.

I just wound it up and ran it without wearing it for 2 days, I think it's actually lost a little bit of time so the rate is probably affected quite a bit by the spring tension. Whatever, I bought it for the looks not the timekeeping.

Good to see other horologists on this site..
I told my wife I got into this thinking it was about studying whores..
Anyways.. I have several watches which I need to post a few.. Got a couple
Of nice ones.. And some good knock around ones such as Edox, orient, etc..
I started with pocket watches.. I have about 20 good American railroad pocket watches.. Hamilton, Illinois, Bunn, Elgin... Etc.. Most are in 16 size.. I have some early 18 size sidewinders that still work and keep good time and they were made in the late 1800's.
These watches are works of art.. Back when the Americans made some of the worlds best watches.
I will add some pics when I get my act together.. Anyone else collect pocket watches...?
