You didn't say anything about auto mode. You just said, MPG, Sport, and manual. I can do all of those things.

I'm glad you like your auto, I like automatics in general and I know the BRZ/FR-S auto is a good one. It's just not what I need in small sports car.

I said regular. Car drives in D like a normal auto, I said MPG cuz it typically keeps the revs ridiculously low when you keep it in D.

Agreed, but driving 45 mins each way in traffic wouldn't allow that to happen for me.

I spend about 3 hours a day in 0-15 MPH traffic.

I live in #7 and my girlfriend lives in #3. Only 50 miles apart and depending on the time of day we are an hour apart or we are 4 hours apart.

The auto box has a clutch. It is integral with the torque converter and operates in gears 2-6. The BMW 8 spd auto referred to is the ZF with an almost identical set up.

You cannot shift a manual transmission as quickly as these automatics shift gears. Nobody can. Double clutch transmissions may be even quicker but when they are shift quality suffers.

The main reason the automatic is so much slower off the line is the taller gear ratios.

Once the automatic shifts into second gear it performs exactly as for a manual, the clutch goes in and out momentarily with each shift, otherwise the drivetrain is locked from flywheel to drive wheels.

Wow, thanks for that. I was afraid that Boston would be on that list and look! There it is at #10.

My 16 mile commute in the morning takes about an hour and ten minutes. "Luckily," it only takes about 45-50 minutes to get home.

I'm autocrossing my A/T and I am working on exploiting the A/T's quick smooth rev-matched downshifts to first for those slow sections when most manual drivers remain in second gear.

buy some quick spray wax/detailer .. keep it dust free and u wont have to wash it much. mine is still spotless after over a year and I keep it immaculate when I can. keeping it indoors helps I guess. I wash it lie 1x/month if that using this method.

auto is a lot of fun and nice on commutes in traffic.
allows u to enjoy your drinks when you want to and get a bit crazy on the mtn roads too.

Quality of shift doesn't suffer on Dual clutch. The older ferrari's were clunky compared to the newer models. My e90 m3 dct wasn't as smooth and responsive as my f10 m5 dct. They're getting the technology down by now.

Incorrect, its a 6 speed sequential auto, with a single clutch.
