You're still getting to 40-60mph on an autocross though, which is fast enough that an airbag is a good idea.

I've mowed over cones going 45-55MPH often, mostly on the sides of the bumper but I have taken them right down the middle to. Ripped out a few fender liners but no air bags.

I've never thought about disabling the airbags in any car I've autocrossed.

I remember leaving the track a few seconds before that happened. That was interesting to see him drive the rest of the track back to the paddock.

I flipped my FRS at WSIR and no airbags were deployed

Yeah I've touched 72 mph at my lpcal autox in a stock car. Thats fast enough to warrant airbag deployment I hope.

Looks like the roof is holding up well in these cars; third rollover I've seen and so far the B-pillars are holding their own. One of my worries when I began running on track was if a roll bar would be needed, or if I could get away with a harness bar.

Sorry for your loss though, that is not a good situation.
