Why would you buy a brand new car, put $10k or more in it and get rid of it in less than 1 year? Or some people who bought the car, didn't really do anything other than wheels and springs and they're bored with it and need something faster. Those people didn't even attempt to make their car faster. It doesn't take an astronomical amount of money to make this car perfectly acceptable in the power to weight ratio category. Or the I want a 10 Series, I want a BRZ STI, I want a Signature Series guys. Let me save you some time and money, you'll never be able to have the latest and greatest for longer than 6 months, the newness wears off, the honeymoon is over, that's when real car love happens, lol. Take it from me, I've owned 26 different cars in the past 10 years.
I wondered about this too. Seems like a huge loss of money for those owners. Is FI not all it's cracked up to be on these cars?

I've thought about going with a SC at some point as it'd seem ideal for power delivery on a track, but the trend is concerning.

^this and the laziness of human nature in this era peeve me as well. I've read through thread after thread of build journals and vendor info as well as outside sources other forums for other types of cars just to find answers to questions. I can honestly say I have never posted "I don't want to read through 5 pages on your build so can you tell me…..?"
But I see that all the time on here. Really? A noob question here or there is one thing. Not all of us are complete gear heads but that blows my mind every time I see it.

The decision to stick with it is as fleeting as loyalty this day in age.

Seems to me that a SC would be great for someone that spends a lot of time on the track. But anyone considering adding it to a daily driver should do their homework first. It may still make sense for a DD but obviously there are other serious considerations.

Haha so... what are your impressions? Also would you recommend either for the track?

Ideal for me would be something close to OEM reliability. I don't mind monitoring oil/coolant temps on the track or in DD, but I don't want to constantly have to fiddle with the tune or review data logs.

It all really depends on knowing what you want out of your car specifically and finding what fits your needs/wants specifically.

I'm right there with you. I've owned over 30 cars and this is the first one that looks like I might actually make it to the year mark. I would love to turbo this car, but I'm worried about reliability more than anything. That and there isn't a dealership with turbo/supercharged setups that i can go test drive to see which one I like more.

don't be scared. just have enough saved that if it breaks you can afford to fix it. I mean what is the warranty really good for…ifs and buts.

Wooo cam seal seaping. Guess it's time for warranty work. Tackle that, the chirp, and the door rattle. Be back to awesome after that.

Or get the Raceseng piece and do it myself...hmm

Raceseng part ordered. Unno if I should do it or let warranty try it. Plus new chirp fix supposedly coming out.

I heard of companies that do this, and they'll only pay you for a couple of months at most. But I never knew how they contacted owners.
