Dear @Unicorn,

You will get a much better response to your questions to the members if you @ in front of whom ever you are asking. This notifies the other party of your mention.

To my knowledge aftermarket or universal trans have always been rated in power/torque like all other driveline parts i.e. clutch, flywheel, trans, differentials, driveshafts, axles, etc.

Dear Beyer Subaru,

Only low quality aftermarket parts and/or rice specials & their suppliers/sellers rate drivetrain components by power.

Yours sincerely,
Unicorn

Hrrrm, no. I'd have to disagree. An example - http://www.allisontransmission.com/d...t/specs_HS.pdf

I don't consider allison trans to be low quality or rice. Just because you don't know something doesn't make it wrong.

Complete overkill for what I could ever accomplish but very interested in seeing this come to life. Everything else in our drivetrain has routes for more power (clutch / drive shaft / axles) so its good to see the tranny has options above OEM now too

Wait!! Don't go yet. Take some of this to them -
http://www.driveshaftshop.com/
http://www.ppgearbox.com.au/page.asp?productid=99
http://eng.kaps-transmissions.com/pr...l-gearbox.html
http://www.exedyusa.com/race_clutch/...ulti-plate.php

Most every drivetrain part is going to have some kind of hp/tq ratings. If they weren't rated then you wouldn't know what would break it.

Again, you want to use an @ if you want to gain the attention of who you are speaking with. Example @Beyer Subaru.

Dear Beyer Subaru,

I appreciate your effort to copy & paste what you find on the internet to try and justify your statement, but please also try and appreciate what actually breaks a transmission component.

There are no black and whites. There are only aggregates and compromises. I am reasonably confident that if you approached any of the companies you reference and ask what the primary measurement of capability is, they would state 'torque'.

If you wish to undertake the exercise, I will gladly sacrifice one care-bear for every transmission company who says "power".

Yours sincerely,
Unicorn

Using hp as a benchmark is easier when your advertising to a variety of people. It will hold 800 lb ft tq.

Yep. You got it. I thought that you didn't understand but it seems as though you have a firm understanding. We are saying the same thing just differently.

I clearly stated "I have a few transmission cases to choose from" so read before you talk shit.
