CSG Mike doesn't really have a good grasp on that driving thing...

Seriously. Though most people on these forums don't seem to believe this, our cars are much faster in a straight line than the majority of cars on the road. I have tons of short on ramps near me and no problems

My thoughts?
Get the FR-S, especially if its going to be your DD. Although it is slower, who really cares unless you are on the track all the time?
Just a few of my less baised (I own and appreciate both) thoughts about the way I would adjust this list, off the top of my head.

Pros/Cons for s2000
+ Convertible
+ Faster
+ Older (becoming a modern classic)
- Little to no trunk/interior space
+ Expensive for used (starting to show price appreciation)
+ SEXY AS HELL (if the twins get this so does the S2k)
+ A lot of space for modding (seriously, have you seen the aftermarket for the S2k???)
+ Engine is nearly bulletproof if maintenanced well

Pros/Cons for FR-S/BRZ
+ Although slower, still EXTREMELY FUN to drive
+ Decent interior/trunk space
+ Sexy as hell
+ Can buy new or used
+ Lower insurance rate
+ SEXY AS HELL
+ A lot of space for modding
+ A back seat (semi-usable)
- Slower then the s2000
- Questionable tunes (DI issue scares many off tracking; inexusable for a sports car)
- lack of adjustable factory alignment

While I think the BRZ looks great now. I think the modern exterior design will get dated fast.

I'll take the dissenting opinion.

I think the overall shape is timeless. I think the way modern cars are headed (EV's and hybrids especially) will make the shape and style of the Twins stand out as a representation of an era all modern sports car enthusiasts long for.

For me, it took the S2000 about 10 years to get "long in the tooth" but while I think the looks are for a time now past, I love and appreciate it just the same such as I do the 1965 Lotus Elan or Ferrari California.

With the s2000 the lines are classic (some would call it bland) and it doesn't fall victim to modern design because of it's simplicity. Don't get me wrong, not saying that the BRZ is a bad looking car (for now). Just look at an NSX (razor to the eyes.. very dated) vs an FD (still the most beautiful car to come from Japan). Just IMHO.

That sentence right there says that you and I are not the same page.

I think the NSX is one of the best looking cars still to this day while the FD has a dated feel (but still gorgeous). I think the FD is like the Dodge Viper.. still good looking cars but "in their day". The NSX is still droooool today.

So clearly, if you and I go out drinking, we're probably not hitting on the same girls.

I would just like to add that I think the S2000 looks better than the BRZ, especially if it is hardtop equipped. That's not to say I don't like the looks of my BRZ, I just think the S2000 looks better. Simpler, more purposeful and stronger lines that I think will hold up to the test of time better. The European Union has cursed all modern cars with their ridiculous pedestrian crash standards, which is why the BRZ's hood and hood's leading edge is higher than the S2000's despite a significantly lower engine.

Additionally, auto insurance for the BRZ/FRS is NOT cheaper than the S2000. Depending on if you have an FRS or BRZ, or what model year S2000 it's really a toss up. When I sold my S2000 and got a BRZ my insurance went up.

Wow NSX best looking car to this day? I was going extreme when I chose the NSX. lol A Lamborghini Countach would be more en vogue than an NSX.

I'll take the middle road.

The S2000's exterior is still modern, minus the headlight and front bump design. Take the oval/almond shape of the 2000's and replace it with the sweepin, aggressive headlights, and then replace the bumper opening with the typical trapezoid and side faux vents, and BAM, you have a modern car.

I love the fender arches of the BRZ/FRS.
