Nothing. Take logs as normal.

So 3rd gear start from 2500rpm all the way to the red line and then do a norma driving from the first gear to the 6th. Send them to logs@fa20club dot com.
Also remember that every time you open your tune file to do the log process that you have to check off all the parameters he includes in the list he sends you. This has to be done EVERY TIME! Don't do as I did and think it saves the selected parameters.....you will end up wasting yours and Tonys time.

^^ Same situation for me. Definitely would have had my updated tune this past weekend if I hadn't fudged it up. Oh well, lesson learned

As mentioned above make sure you read the one page instructions Andy sends and tick the correct items Toni needs logged, I found if you don't your logs are sort of ignored as they are deemed useless.
Fa20 stage 2 is pretty much bang on from first tune, so you need to understand that unless you have a problem and don't list your mail as "High Pririty" it will join the queue.
Many guys are going F1 these logs are looked at first due to the nature of what could go wrong, hence I believe Toni is extremely busy keeping up with these logs first.
Suggest mailing Andy if you want to check up and ask questions.
When I fitted the new Sprintex Intercooled SC, I had problems, Toni spent an entire weekend trying to resolve the issue.
Dedication and commitment is what you get from FA20.

Oh and BTW, consider all the members of Visconti that have raced over to FA20 and how busy Toni must be at this point in time.......and in fact I would guess all the well known tuners are expiriencing some sort of back log due to this.......

I can't believe this is not a top requested feature.. to save the current parameters. Also, for some reason you can't focus the "log to file" to use the space bar to start logging. By accident, you remove one of the parameters instead... ahhh!

I'm curious to know why ecutek tunes (e-tunes in particular) from various vendors require so much back and forth logging and fine tuning after flashing into the car? Compared to the other off-the-shelf tune offered with the OFT, which looks like it's pretty much 'dialed-in' already and most if not all customers seem pretty happy with it out of the box.

Are you guys sending in logs and requesting fine tuning because the base tunes provided are too mild? Or is it because you've added/modded other parts and now need a tune optimised for it?

I'm not trying to start a who's better and who's not....just an honest (and maybe ignorant) question based on my own observations.

i think it has to do with the fact that if you want anything whatsoever changed it has to go back to the tuner. you can't raise the rev limit 100rpm without doing the whole process back and forth. that and i know some of the tuners send out very conservative base tunes and then go from there with logging (probably the best way to do it, really).

Not every car is the same. Not everyone's mods are the same. The fine tuning is for YOUR specific mods on the car. This is what puts it ahead of that initial "canned" tune that comes with it. The gains might be minor, they could actually be a lot more. You just don't know till you try.

The base tunes are just that, base. They're the starting point. Most of them run rich as an added barrier of safety. As you start logging your tuner will see things like knock, AFR, fuel trims, idle, etc. that they will begin to dial in, thus the back and forth.

When they notice something funky they can alert you and begin to troubleshoot the issue (i.e. Knock with bad pump gas), before your car inevitably alerts you.

You may also notice things and you can relay that to your tuner. For example, the car may start rough or idle poorly. Your tuner may tweak the fuel maps and adjust the idle RPM.

While I still don't believe eTuning is a replacement for a proper dyno tune, the process is the same. Even on the dyno the tuner goes back and forth, just they do it in a monitored and controlled environment where they control the variables and can quickly be alerted of issues then road test as opposed to the owner doing their own logging and waiting for updates.
