What Swaybars are you running?

Hey everyone...

So I came from the MR2 world and am looking at swaybars. Doing some research it looks like the Eibach are pretty popular as well as Whiteline. I like the adjustability so I can fine tune my suspension. I ran TRD's on my MR2's and really liked those but don't see them from TRD yet. Just curious what people are running and why you picked them. I am going to be doing daily driving with canyon runs here and there and the yearly track day. Thanks!

Dear Mark_Dorman,

Different people are running different bars. Does this help?

This unicorn is one of the few who appreciate the car understeers from the factory, so is running an appropriate rear bar to give better turn-in.

Unfortunately sheep and unicorns do not mix, so beware.

Yours sincerely,
Unicorn

Actually, TRD does have sway bars.

...but you would be crazy to buy these with a $751 price tag.

@Unicorn - Thank you. I'm not one to enjoy and over abundance of oversteer but theory of which bars you should use to achieve that and how they actually behave can not align perfectly. I'm looking for comments on ride quality as well as I have seen some cars ride get ruined by too stiff of swaybars but others don't seem to be as affected.

I hadn't seen those, but yeah. That's a bit high on price lol.

Do you have any other suspension modifications? What kind and what size tires do you run?

Let me know how you like the Hotchkis. I've always found Hotchkis a bit too extreme.

Running 235/35R18's all around. Eibach springs now but upgrading to KW V3 in the future.

Sorry, that's what I was going to run (too few options at that size). I have 225/40R18 Potenza S-04 Pole Position. Planning on going up to 245's after FI, but that won't be for a few years.

I love my eibach sways. The front end bite is much better and the rear will still step out if you provoke it. The car is much more "Aimable" IMO. I did Eibach sways and sportlines together.

Running RaceComp hollow sways here

Quote:
FRONT
OE bar: 18 mm solid
OE measured bar rate: 24.7 N/mm

Racecomp Engineering bar 25mm tubular, adjustable
2 position adjustable
P1 = 60 N/mm (335 lbs/in)
P2 = 80 N/mm (455 lbs/in)

REAR
OE bar: 14 mm solid
OE measured bar rate: 19.8 N/mm

Racecomp Engineering bar: 19 mm tubular, adjustable
2 position adjustable
P1 = 33 N/mm (188 lbs/in)
P2 = 45 N/mm (257 lbs/in)
They work well on track with RCE yellows and sticky 235/35/18 street tires.
