And now time for something completely new....

made a custom Tapturn for myself to try a few concepts out.
Have a look on my Legacy.

Not sure if signals like this are legal? A quick double blink for Tapturn and regular signaling.

These are stock incandescent bulbs, so kinda sluggish ramp up and down.. If you have LED's these would be very crisp strobes.

Here is wag-wag in strobe effect, these blink two times per side.

And a slow motion wigwag (aka the easter egg mode) rendered in strobes, these blink 4 times per side.

Well it won't take long to get there from Sherwood Park when you do order. And use e-transfer to save a couple bucks.

Cheers!

I've rigged up this Tapturn with strobes using a second processor inside, so it's a dual core flasher, believe it or not!

It has configurable modes:
1. Behave just like a normal Tapturn, no strobing.
2. Strobe Hazards but only when car is off / parked, normal hazards otherwise. This applies to hazard modifiers too, wig wag and slow motion.
3. Strobe Hazards any time you use hazards, parked or driving, applies to modifiers as well.
4. Strobe all, which is all hazards and signaling too. This includes signals done by the tap feature, and conventional signaling too.

I got a couple strobe packed Tapturn's out testing in the field already, thanks tho.

Talk to @KAR on this forum! He's got a prototype installed. Here's his DIY page for his install.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...hlight=tapturn

KAR's unit has hardware switches to select strobe mode.

I've since figured a way to make these software selectable... using just your signal stalk, hazard switch, and ignition switch in combination.

As customer appreciation I can retrofit the software selectable Strobe Pack processor onto existing Tapturn's bought after Aug.2013 if you send it in for service, PM me for the dollars first. Got an earlier unit than that, it's a replace, sorry.

I have not set a price yet to have Tapturn come with strobe pack already installed, but it will cost a bit more than standard Tapturn for the dual core new functions.

Anyway, with Strobe Pack you'd get all four modes (mentioned a couple posts back) user programmable which one you want to run with. Change it at will when the car is parked for the next drive, takes seconds to do.

I just wish you had gotten enough help to bring the window controls to market.

I should mention that any of the strobe modes also strobes the alarm confirmations given by using the remote lock buttons.. This is just a bonus effect that looks pretty cool and reminds you that strobes are enabled on the car.

And the most intense strobe mode (4) also strobes the blink count setting indications while you're changing the number of Tap blinks from 3 to 6... Sort of as a reminder that your taps and signals will be strobed.

Cheers
Scott

Tapturn will improve your TOMS too, by getting rid off the retarded first blink problem with that flasher.

I did put a thread about it over here in hopes to catch TOMS light buyers before doing the under dash work.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46691

Spread the word! If you're doing flasher may as well do it once, for the life of the car and get Tapturn!
