I followed the TSB that Toyota had and just did the lubricant spray on the two metal pieces shown in the pictures. Sprayed enough to a few drips, wiped it up, and I haven't heard anything since then. I'm just thankful I didn't have to take the extra steps past that.

i actually just brought mine in to my dealership (Don Valley North Toyota), they scheduled an apt.
almost no noise after their fix. You can BARELY hear a hollow noise here and there, but its barely audible. they working out other issues too. |

Just an FYI, my tapping sounds started coming back ever so faintly. However, I only used regular WD-40 (technically not a grease) and I only put in a few bursts in the obvious holes under the rear deck. I did not pry anything apart.
I'll probably dig through my tools and see if I can find my spray greases and use some of that. If not, at this point, it's so faint and infrequent that it doesn't bother me - yet. I would recommend to anyone who wants to try the DIY fix, to use an actual spray grease over the regular WD-40 penetrating spray. |

You press the spot marked in red dot firmly. And spray WD-40 as shown in the picture. (That spot opens up a little bit when you press the red dot firmly.) You don't need to spray WD-40 "inside" of the hole. |

Mine has this noise now. 2 months old, ~2500 miles. Gonna try spraying it tomorrow and try some of the other simple fixes.

Had a light ticking sound from the rear deck when weight would shift or dips in the pavement loaded the suspension.
Sprayed two quick shots of Deep Creep into the each of the pockets under the decklid this morning. Instafixed™! Didn't need to push prod or pry anything. |

I have some serious rattles coming from the driver door lock. Not really sure how to fix this one. Any ideas? Also just got a pretty loud rattle under the dashboard steering column area.

I have this sound coming from the back of my car. It has no frequency, sounds to me like something like a piece of string with a small nut or rock on the end, blowing in the wind and twacking the car as it gets blown around.
It's not too bad, but annoying. I'll try the WD40 trick and see if it works. Thanks! |

That could be the glow-inna-dark interior trunk release handle.
It's on a string and tends to flail around unless you secure it somehow.
