Thanks all for your replies,

I really thought this was normal but it doesn't seem to be, when I'm coasting and come to a stop I can feel the rate of deceleration increase (as mentioned before) so I always seem to stop before my intended position. What could possibly be the problem here?

I already had the dealer check it out and they said everything checks out.

In more detail, the gears don't downshift until like right before coming to a full stop which causes the head bobbing.

Sarlacc and others have mentioned this was never the case in several auto's they have test driven so I think I should worry.

Doesn't this engine (auto) also blip the throttle for you not causing head bobbing or engine braking

No that's kind of what it does. If i auto blip the the trans while braking it does what you mention. You have nothing to worry about. I have 300 plus autocross runs on my auto trans with a lot of hitting the paddles into first to keep the car in the power band.

I know I have it all the time. Its fine. Its normal stop being paranoid. This auto does not drive like any other auto you have driven. So you can't compare it.

Yeah I have OCD and pretty much am paranoid with everything, but does your car literally do it "all the time"?

My car does it everytime before coming to a stop and you can feel a "jerk", I wonder why some people said they have never felt this before? It doesn't seem like something you can just miss.

Everyones feelings and awarness levels are different please stop comparing. You just said you are ocd it seems like you are just looking for problems. Instead of all this typing go out and drive your car. Go beat on it for a bit. IT will thank you and ask for more.

If you are really worried take someone with you and have them film it and show us. Till then have fun. Close this thread.

I strongly disagree. This automatic transmission is in fact exactly like any other, it's a little more aggressive than your average granny-mobile; but still predictable, comfy and safe.

But anyway, if the dealer says it's OK, it's OK! And your warranty is fine, you have shown prudence by visiting the dealer and if anything breaks down you'll be fine. So it's all good.

Now, I suggest you go out and get to know your car. It's like a little kitten, it likes to play and and it's spirited, but it won't hurt you if you're gentle and play nice.
Find an empty parking lot and try emergency stops, try flat out acceleration (for a short while, be safe), try hard turns and so on. Keep all the electronics ON and the Sport mode OFF, until your car does not surprise you at all any more, even if you slam the brakes while in a sharp turn. (low speed in an empty parking lot, of course.)

Personally, I am very emotional about my cars. All of them, even the crappy ones I've had. They become intimate friends, after a while. My GT86 and I spent at least 2000 km to get to that point.

You obviously don't have this problem. It feels uncomfortable to come to a stop as the car jerks as it slow down.

Do you have a cell phone take video. No one can diagnose a problem with out seeing it happen. Take video upload to YouTube post here
