maybe you should note this to potential buyers, that *you* will not furnish any FI maps for the foreseeable future and that 3rd party tuners must be sourced.
Buying the OFT isn't buying a tune. It's buying the hardware that can be used to tune your car with. Whether you do it yourself, get free maps from Shiv, or take it to a local tuner and have them tune your car with it. If you can't find a local tuner willing to tune your car using the OFT... well, how is that Shiv's fault?

Hey guys, I'm running the 1.2 OTS map. I have a Borla UEL on the car and today I threw the P0171 (Bank 1 lean) code without running the car hard. I didn't bring it up past 4k rpm. Just wanted to see if anyone has had the same issue.

That code is caused by the header. To get rid if it, you only need to disable it in the rom. When I get to the office I'll check to see if that diagnostic toggle is available in the XDF file. If not, I'll add it today.

The Stivo EL header in our car triggered the same code so it's pretty common. That code is disabled in the Stg2 OTS map that we are about to release.

Is Open Flash Tablet capable of controlling Methanol Injection?

For my soon-to-be turboed car, it's now between the Hydra system with their Hydramist WMI, which is quite a bit more money, but also seems to have a lot of advantages, although I'm not sure if I can or would appreciate them, and the OFT which seems really good as well.

I basically have 91 gas and I want some higher HP so I need to also run WMI.

The OFT is not able to control a methanol injection system. Currently, it's functionality is limited only to ecu rom read/writing, diagnostics and soon data logging/displays. It does not have the auxiliary I/O to control methanol injectors/pumps. For those things, a standalone like the Hydra is better suited IMHO.

Shiv,

Why is the header causing the lean code? P0171 is based on the fuel trim being considerably out of spec on the LEAN side.

Please explain... Isn't it usually best to try to avoid disabling system checks unless absolutely necessary?

From what I've seen the P0171 code is caused by the o2 sensor spacer in some headers that is intended to eliminate the cat inefficiency code (P0420). But what it also does is muddle the size and make it slow to respond. I have not seen fuel trims go out of spec considerably with the header installed. But I have seen this code get triggered during sustained highway cruise. So disabling this code isn't a big deal IMHO.

In our Stage 2 map however, we did rescale the MAF a bit to shift trims closer to 0 during cruise/light throttle. But this was mainly to avoid additive and unwanted long term fuel trim that would otherwise make the car run too rich (for max power) over time. I can turn the P0171 diagnostic back on to see if the code comes back or not.

Cheers
shiv

I have just confirmed that the diagnostic toggle for that code is available in the current XDF file. To disable it, just turn it off (input 0) here:

Has any information on whether this can be configured for MAP been discovered yet?
