Make sure those "TC" lights stay flashing (safety first), save the TC off for autox/trackday/controlled environment. I'm sure all the DRIVE folks would love to talk your ear off on driving techniques (including myself ) but all I would say is: seat time, seat time, seat time... then more seat time. As long as you are going out for drives, autox or trackdays, the more "in-tune" you'd feel with the car and know exactly what is going on. Confidence/speed comes from knowing the difference between "hmmm feeling iffy, should take that turn slowly" or "feels great "
I still haven't got to my 3k miles yet :-) and can't wait for more advice. plus of course driving it more.

Also, I went to an autoX on Sunday (as passenger) and saw a lot of 86s. one guy was killing it in his FRS for CS class. I got to sit in his car unbelievable (the only thing he changed out is his tires, rest are stock)

I kind of miss the heaviness (sp?) of it. I have to slow a bit on parts of Patterson now to avoid catching air. Lol

that just means you need more downforce.

not judging the Aventador driver, maybe he's a moron, maybe not. I recall from the Motor Trend 2012 Best Driver's Car, they were saying the Aventador was very unpredictable, a wild car and difficult to control at the limit. Which I guess means if I was able to learn that from the internet, then homeboy who paid $200K+ for it should probably have figured that out too and showed it a little more respect. But let's be honest here, haven't we all done some risky things in our cars just because it seemed like a good idea at the time. Sometimes you are lucky and get through it, sometimes you realize yeah that wasn't the smartest thing to do. And sometimes you are unlucky.

Guess Im in the market for a GT style wing and a front splitter. Haha

I dont disagree. I posted more cuz its a road we all know and to serve as a reminder. Not judging the guy at all. Like Chris said its unfortunate cuz itll be all over just due to the car he drives.

If you get a steering wheel & any of those GT games (4 & 5 is what I played), how the car reacts in the game is pretty similar to real life. I learned a lot about driving rwd from driving a stock S2000 in those games, and my buddy who actually owns one, practiced drifting in it before he did it on the track.

Dude I still play forzamotorsports 4 on my racing rig using the fanatec wheel 6speed and custom ebrake.its somewhat similar like I notice when I do small drfts I use the same hand movements to spin the wheel back and it reacts pretty much the same.

i read somewhere that this guy bought this car like a couple days ago off an engineer in SF for $500k since the car is brand new, and he crashed it the very next day

wow I stand corrected, $500K.

I went back and read Randy Pobst's impressions last year on it, sounds like it's not really a car you want to push to the limits on 84 (or any public road).

On handling...The chassis balance is different all the time. You have a little slow turn-in, but if you wait a little too long, you get big oversteer and then you get some understeer again. It's just constantly changing from understeer to oversteer to understeer to oversteer. Difficult car to drive fast, for sure. It's not a car that reward aggression -- only on the way off -- partially because it's so powerful. It's a car that needs to be driven smoothly, in control, not hung on the ragged edge.

Little more info on the crash. Driver was 17 years old. Also better pics of the damage. Feel bad for the kid being blasted all over the internet. Maybe he deserves it but sucks to be him right now I'm sure.

Well this just got interesting, and took a turn for the absolute worst. One of those situations that has something for everyone to get angry about - teenagers, (rare) fast cars, lots of money, reckless driving. What more could you ask for, internet?!?
