WP8 GDR3 improvement for FR-S 2014 HU
Just an FYI for anyone on WP8 that the GDR3 preview released today unlocked the ability to do TellMe speech via bluetooth on the FR-S 2014/10 Series head unit. Before of course voice calls and music streaming worked fine, but for speech commands the car mic couldn't hear you. Now you can check the box under advanced in the bluetooth settings and it will work. It will take a little longer to pair though, be patient. This may also work for the other various head units (BRZ, FR-S stock, etc) but I don't have them to test.
It's funny because my Ford Focus 2012 was a more advanced head unit and it always worked with it, but I was happy to give that up because of all the problems it had running on its own. The FR-S head unit was a breath of fresh air even though I lost that speech feature. Now it's back. Go here to get it for free: http://www.wpcentral.com/get-gdr3-to...iew-developers |
