Short story. Drive meet at 4:30PM in Livemore. Drove Mines rd. Decided to drive up Mt Hamilton. Lick Observatory. Watched the sunset together. Weather was very windy and cold up there. The dude let us drive up while it was closed. Beautiful view! Drove down towards San Jose. As I was heading down I heard something in the back of my car as I swerved down into the turns. Sounds like a bushing I don't know man --" Just something with the rear left wheel. I went home while the others went to Starbucks. I checked underneath the car to see anything fish or cracked I see nothing. Just me understeering I think that's the right term. car goes in tail flies out. Yeah I think that's the term. Pictures, my phone died. I'll upload when they upload.

Thank you Ed and nice seeing Dennis and Zen. Meeting new people; Jonathan, Kimberly, and Van (I hope that spelled that right) Good night!

sounds like you are describing oversteer not understeer.

Understeer: your front tires slip and car goes out toward the outer edge of the turn (feels like it doesn't want to turn)

Oversteer: your rear tires slip out as you turn too fast (feels like car turns too much)

either way, means you are going too fast for the turn and should slow down more before entering the turn. Always brake in a straight line before entering a turn.*

* there are of course exceptions to this rule, for advanced drivers and drifters who want to oversteer.

Great drive everyone, we got to the 130 junction and the group decided to head towards the observatory. As Anthony said, there was a sign that said do not enter. Probably because of the gov shutdown or just because it was closed and late already. Fortunately a guy in a gov truck gave us the ok to drive up there And enjoy the view. We watched the sunset over the hills and started our downhill (battle) in the mountain pass.😏. When we reached the bottom stop sign. We stopped and waited for the rest of the cars to make sure everyone made it down in one piece. Unfortunately we didn't see the white comet racing the fujiwara tofu car, but we were able to end the drive on a good note.
