Just loaded the 1.2v for stock intake before taking my car out for my lunch break. Can't say I've noticed anything different besides the slightly higher idle so far. Some hesitation at low rpm, but I think that's just the ECU adjusting to the new tune. Will do some more "testing" on my way back to the office.

I Just installed the Stage 1 map myself. My initial feelings were about identical to yours above. It Idles a little higher but it does idle so much smoother now, a lot less bouncing around. I also felt like when I was slowly rolling out or leaving from a stop it felt like it was more hesitant or willing to stall out, which it didn't... I took it out for about a 30 minute drive and by the end I have to say I am very happy with the results. The tune didn't really create a throw you back in your seat feel but after a number of good pulls I started to notice how much smoother it felt as it wound up. I also noticed that it felt more eager to take off as I was slowly cruising along. the power felt much more consistent. Take it around for a bit let the ECU relearn itself a little and try to see if you can really notice the consistency in power and the slight increase in the greater RPM's. |

Ditto here. I'll just have to jump through a few extra hoops. As a 20 yr Windows Systems Engineer, I'm all OSX now. I'll have to bootcamp a version of Windows on my Macbook. Mac version in the cards for the future???

I highly suggest it. It's still new so not many maps yet but it's so easy to install and I can just see more and more maps coming out and the best part is its all open you can look at all sorts of maps. I'll be honest I don't know how to read them much now but I want to learn and this is a great platform for it.

I second that. Tunerpro for Mac would be great.

In out OTS maps, we don't change the idle speed target during cold start conditions. We just change the final engine speed it eventually settles to when warm (750rpm vs 650rpm). So what you are describing is stock tune behavior as well.

I got my oft today. Installed stage 1 stock intake v1.2. Feels great! I instantly noticed the extra torque. The whole powerband is smoother and it pulls harder up top. Almost sounds like VTEC post 4k heh. Totally worth the purchase. Looking forward to datalogging

A local tuner told me he would need datalogs to properly tune the car.
Can someone explain how would one tune a car if that is not available? Would a tuner be using a wideband sensor or a gas probe? I'm having trouble finding a tuner around my area because they either never tuned a BRZ before or is using ECUtek. |

I know nothing about tuning but I believe in the olden days before data logs. Tuners would use dyno's and o2 sensors. Not even a wide range sensor. I wonder if something will come up if you google old tuning days.?

You must allow the ecu to adapt. I too updated to 1.2v yesterday and thought I had mistakenly uploaded the stock tune. After a day of driving it's back to the same solid idling, snarling beast with the strong midrange torque that I enjoyed on 1.1v. THIS is how the car should run from the factory.
On a side note, I ran my 1st autocross on an OFT tune this weekend. The extra torque helped immensly with corner exit. It also allowed me to rotate the rear with the throttle instead of bogging down and/or downshifting in slower corners. The tune has really made my car more competitive and daily driving a lot more fun. Thank you and keep up the good work! |

ya, the idle is fine its just when you first turn the key it sounds like it revs to 4500+ then settles. i guess i just never noticed it before
