Man, you're living the dream! I would love to have that kind of selection for beaters! I'll take a skyline please! Stupid federal regulations can die in a fire.

RWD in the winter isn't the issue it used to be. Snow tires, stibility control, traction control, ABS. This will be my only car, I've had a more recent RWD and had no issues with snow once I got snow tires on it.

Bah I use Star specs, RE11s, etc in the winter.

The benefit of living in florida.

I actually have a question about the roads down there. I haven't been in florida since I was a kid but my cousin recently visited there and told me the roads are nice but the highways suck, any truth behind that?

Yeah I heard they aren't taken care of very well. It's like driving on the moon. My buddy had a 370Z and said the highways were jarring.

I'm originally from Ohio, so compared to Ohio and Michigan they are like glass lol

They aren't great, it really depends on where you are (which county).

There are very few roads that are fun to drive though, dumb flat state that loves to build straight roads.

I seem to think that this will be the norm for at least 6-12 months, the FRS and BRZ will be in high demand.

Gonna go to my dealer tomorrow and put down a deposit to secure my place in line. By state law it is 100% refundable, so is there anything I should try to get in writing from them?

Yes a few:

See if you can get a set price like $500 over invoice
that you you do not want more 10 miles on the car when you purchase it
Full tank of gas

^How many were successful in getting anything relative to invoice in writing? I suppose I could try some $$ under MSRP, but I'm not positive on invoice.

Question is how motivated are dealers to sell under invoice? This is probably the most hyped up car since the STI came state side for Subaru. Are dealers really willing to sell under MSRP and for some close to invoice without any real motivation to do so? If this car is going to be as hard to get the first several months/year as it sounds, there is no reason for the dealer to take a hit off MSRP when there are guys lining up to put down deposits. If the car doesn't sell well b/c 1) it is over priced or 2) doesn't live up to the hype, then sure they will knock the price down. But all the reviews to date state that it lives up to the hype and we still don't know about #1. I highly doubt one will be able to get one for much under MSRP unless you take a hit on your trade-in value which doesn't really count in the scheme of pricing.
