i can't quote source

but it is my understanding that when you start getting into higher spring rates the the discreprency in front to rear spring rate become less important.

which is why it works in the case of these tuners.

I'm just running FRS rear springs with my BRZ front springs and I love it so far

If I wanted the car lower (which I personally don't) I would go with RCE's and some sort of adjustable shock. I hope we get something lkke the KYB AGX's for our cars soon...

ewww

i put those on my VW after i retired it from track duty... i'd consider an AGX an affordable OEM replacement.. at best.

I said something "like" them... Instead of the Koni inserts that are a pain to install and end up leaking, or the other current extremely expensive options that your average joe can't afford.

AGX's were actually sold in the Subaru performance catalog through dealerships and I always had good results with them on my Impreza. Better than stock but of course not better than the options that cost 3x as much.

Interesting... Maybe Ohlins has a fixation on same rates front/rear, as the DFV's for my car are 11/11 even though that's a bit rear-biased given 0.61 front and 0.68 rear motion ratios => 45/55 wheel rates, vs. 49/51 weight distribution. The more usual setup is for the front springs to be ~20% stiffer than the rears, giving 49/51 wheel rates.

On the FR-S/BRZ, 6/6 spring rates gives ~62/38 wheel rates vs. 54/46 weight distribution.

Anyway, point taken, 2 of 2 experts are going with equal-rate springs on the FR-S/BRZ, it can't be all bad! It's just not where I would have thought to start.

But yeah, there's more to it than I'm taking into account I'm sure (like what happens to front/rear roll center heights before and after lowering).
