Just got back from the dealer to place the order. Changed color to Argento at last minute. Dealer didn't know about the contest until they were notified about me winning one of the first 86. Delivery in April.

Add me to the list! Got moved up from the Wait List on Friday, so there is hope for others. Deposit put down over the weekend. Like others, the dealer didn't know what do to when I called, but with a little help we got through it.

Firestorm, Automatic, Team Scion of Lithia Springs, GA

I haven't been this excited about buying a car since my last "first" Toyota. I owned one of the first 100 US original (1985) Toyota MR2s in the US, which probably makes me the oldest of the 86. I went to my dealer to buy a pickup, saw them taking it off the truck and fell in love with the red darling with the big black whale-tail. I bought it on the spot before it was even "unwrapped". Drove it for 10 years and almost 200K miles before it got destroyed in an accident.

Congrats! I haven't given up hope yet...even though I never even got a "you've been wait listed" email (but thats neither here nor there)

Anyhow, added to the map.

Sorry to hear about the MR2.

word around these parts was 80k. It was a free sign up open to everyone with no pricing details so I have a feeling only 10-20% are serious buyers.

As Orbital mentioned, the 3,400 number was probably just for the 8 hour 6 minute period.

I do not think this is correct. I looked at the map and there are 6 of the 86 in the Gulf States Toyota region already.

GST- TX, OK, LA, AR, MS

I guess I could have worded it a bit better.

This, from the fine print, is what I was referring to:

Here's the email that Scion sent to their dealerships. 3065 entries in the 8h6m.

Quote:
Scion held a "First 86 Promotion" to single out and reward the first 86 customers to request the upcoming Scion FR-S. The Scion First 86 promotion went live yesterday at 12 noon EST. In the first hour, Scion had over 2,000 people request to be one of the First 86. After 8 hours and 6 minutes, Scion ended up with 3,065 total requests. From these requests, Scion randomly selected 86 lucky people to be among the first to own the new Scion FR-S!!

The customer below was selected, picked your store to buy their FR-S, and will be coming to your store within the next 3 days.

We need the following items to make this transaction happen. Please call me if you have any questions. Thanks and congratulations,

Any chance you can post the "following items"? I'm still not convinced my dealer did everything they were supposed to. First time I went they only took a copy of my email and a deposit. Then, I had to go back in and sign an agreement that looked less than official.

Just want to make sure all the t's are crossed while I'm pacing in the waiting room for the delivery of my baby.

Well there are what, 6 regions in the US? There are 86 cars, so there obviously will be more than one per region. There are 2 in Seattle, and countless in Los Angeles
