My brother owns/operates a shop in Dallas. He was manager of tire kingdom in Shelby for years before going solo. He can hook you up if your willing to drive.

Quick question for the modded Nc people. Didn't know if this was worth of starting its thread. If I need to I will. Really looking at exhaust systems, cat back. The question is - has as anyone installed a perrin or invidia cat back and failed Nc inspection?

I see all these threads where people are talking cat delete, run a muffler or no muffler, etc and I'm really wondering how they pass inspection in Nc. I want a more aggressive/rumble sound from a downpipe and/or exhaust combo that will add a few hp but absolutely do not want that rattle whine fat can ricer sound.

Oh and most of all to not drop $600+ on something that will cause my car to fail just to go home and rip it all out.

Thx for any info.

Unless you change out your headers (where the almighty O2 sensor and cat are) then you'll be fine. Just putting an exhaust on won't cause you to fail. It's when you start messing with the cat and the O2 sensor. People that have changed out their headers or gone catless from what I've read have 2 options...use a spacer with the O2 sensor or it can be "fixed" with a tune. If I remember right, I think I have read of a few people popping CELs using the spacer. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on any of this...
