I'm in Houston (West-side: Energy Corridor). Love the car, looking to get on dealer's list ASAP.

I am.. but I'm from Austin. It all depends on where I am at the time. I'm suppose to be in Georgia for 5 months, then NC for a little over a year, Cali for 4 months.

Welcome all from Houston, we will have to get together and have a little Scion/Toyota meet/cruise once you all take the plunge, I have steered away from the FRS, but will instead be keeping the Supra and buying a GT-R later this year. Hope to see y'all out there

Hello, I've been a lurker for a few years now...I live in the Heights area.

I went to the Houston Auto Show on Sunday to see the FR-S concept. Not too different from production FR-S photos that have been posted, minus some side skirts, rear under-spoiler, different side mirrors. The Scion rep there made a statement that 90% of the body from the concept will be present in the production version, and indicated (as others have suspected) that they expect it to be available "late spring, we're expecting in the June timeframe".

A question I had...anyone know the height of the tallest driver that has sat in one of these is so far? I had heard that 6'4 was the target, but seeing the car in person, I'm a little skeptical. I'm 6'3 so I'm really curious...

I actually went home (Alabama) to get on the list at a high-volume dealership that my family has been friends with for 20+ years rather than get in a queue with 50+ people at one of the Houston area dealers...

There was a video I think on the forum somewhere where a guy over 6 feet was in the car fine.

Did you try a Houston dealership first? Was there really a wait already?

Doubt it, I emailed Gillman Subaru and he said they were not taking deposits or anything at the moment.

I went to show too, knowing that only the concept would be there. It was the Five-Axis concept car from the NY auto show (not sure what was shown at SEMA) but it still looked badass and was an attention grabber. The Scion reps didn't have anything to say about price, but were giving away Scion beanies for correct answers to the FR-S questions.

The Subaru rep there had a media booklet on the BRZ and let me see it, but I had to return it as it was his only copy. He had nothing to say about price when asked.

The BRZ is coming to Dallas for the show up there though...

I talked to Joe Myers Scion and they were not taking deposits either, nor was there a wait list.

None of the dealerships I've spoken are taking deposits because they can't even put the request in their system yet, but when I spoke with them in early December they all had 50+ people signed up to be contacted when it became available for purchase. With my work schedule (I'm often out of town for extended periods of time), it would be nearly impossible to get high up on the wait list when it finally becomes available.
