Anyone have any luck getting a Scion dealer that's an OEM Audio Plus dealer to install in the BRZ?

i changed the front fastener to a threaded stud. One side matched the u-clip and the other side I used a matching wing nut. This made removing and reinstalling the unit so much easier.

also for those that want to install coilovers like the tien and use the edfc shock adjuster you will have to move one of amps.

Could you write a review compared 400+ and 400 CF when you have time?

Thanks a lot.

I finished installing the update.

What is included:

- New 6.5" woofer with slightly bigger magnet and carbon fiber cone
- Reprogrammed DSP/amp (you ship this off and they send it back)
- bypass umbilical cable (connects to mid woofers in dash and route back to the woofer connector at the back in the trunk - note connectors off original mid woofers are removed used as part of the cable and are part of the shipping process with the reprogrammed DSP/amp)

It was not so hard to fish a string through the holes of the dash to pull up the bypass cable connectors where the old mids were but the hardest part was fishing the cable behind the console to passenger side dash speaker connector (they could have given a little more length on the passenger cable to give just a little more room for hiding the cables behind the carpet but I managed).

What I notice is indeed the mid signals are now coming from the new 6.5" door speakers and the sound stage has moved down and does not feel so in your face in the mid range (reflecting off the window was noticeably straining on the ears over time). I hear more mid and lower bass signals from the door speakers now.

Listening to classical and dubstep music I can note the sound stage is more pleasing having moved down in to the front dash. I have more rattles now to address in the trunk (tools in the trunk foam are rattling to the point I can hear them as it hits harder) now that the signals are more clearly separated such that the blending is more efficient and effective.

The front speakers definitely have more oomph and volume added to them as the bass and mid range has move down and forward from the previous setup. The subwoofer I notice is handling just lower frequencies and blends much better (note the fact I get more rattle from the trunk than before probably due to it working less blending lower frequencies the old setup could not handle).

I like it - I could definitely feel the jazz and classical details better. Loud music like dubstep and pop/rock benefit from the new woofer working more range and bringing the front stage forward and lower into the dash (it adds more power to the new speakers and you can tell). I still feel some higher range to be a little much but I can just eq them down a little.

Has anyone bought a reference system in the past couple of weeks? Just curious if the 14 day backorder is really 14 days.

Thanks.
