She really does feel great when the 1000cc IDs kick in at 5K. I'm very happy with my setup. Tonight I will get a video of my BOV installed and also my new BOV flange cap that remove the BOV to keep it as a recuiculating system. I really want to see the difference between the two. Performance wise probalbly not but I'm sure I won't be getting those dips between shifting because of the BOV. I will try to log that information too.

I need to get a page I can type all these things on this kit. Unless I can just do it all here. Thanks for looking

Well, this turbo kit has been a learning experience for me. Personally, I removed the BOV this weekend and uploaded the original E85 tune from @FullBlown. The BOV created pretty much 99% of the issues I was having. The car simply drives amazing now and sounds just as good with/out the BOV. It's kind of nice listening to the wastegate. This is the cap I had made. She works great! Once I figure out how to do the videos I will be able to show a video with the BOV installed and the BOV uninstalled.

Also, yesterday I finished installing my oil catch cans. Tell me what you all think. The steel braided hose looks killer but was a bitch to put in. Glad that's over with LOL.

The major issues I noticed is that the tune was made for a recurculating system, which that is what the GReddy system is. Even though you can tighten the spring on the BOV you will feel a dip when shifting gears. I don't get that anymore since I took it off. Also, in 1st and 2nd gear the engine doesn't spudder from the BOV releasing all the boost all the time. Overall, it's night and day and I actually love the tune more without the BOV. Plus, easier to drift with the power is more readily available.

Is there a good place I can create a picture album for the projects I did on this? Would I do it under my profile? I'll try to read more of the forum rules to find out. I think a lot of the pictures will help give ideas to others as well.

It's not the wastegate you can hear, it's compressor stall/surge.

Is that blanking plate sealed with gunk or an o-ring?

I would just post all your pictures in a Member's Journal post. You can attach a certain number to each post if you don't have them uploaded on the web already.

I'm currently using an O-Ring and it seems to be working great. No boost leaks and thanks for the clarification.

I'd still recommend you get a recirc bov. MAF sensors generally dont do well with atmospheric bovs.

Please don't post general assumptions about general MAF styles and locations. His BOV is right before the turbo waaaaaaaaaaaaay upstream of the MAF sensor so it doesn't matter whether it is VTA, 50/50, or full recirc, the MAF will still read the amount of air entering the engine properly.

Since I removed the BOV and sealed the flange my AFR wideband sensor has actually been more happy. It stays consistant and steady where it should be. The bottom line is that the BOV caused a lot of issues on this kit and personally, I am happy I had my car tuned without the BOV. The performance is sick especially with the launch control.

The launch control did not work right with a BOV. What happened was when I was redlining the engine would cut back its power and the BOV would let boost out. This in turn created very harsh jerking, especially since 1st is a low gear. 2nd gear had the same issues. When I removed the BOV and sealed the flange the car stop jerking when I was redlining allowing me to use that power to my advantage. This actually made it easier to drift the car.

Hey everyone,

I added a Questions and Answers spot on the first part of this forum. I did this hoping to help those with questions about this kit. Also, so people don't get mixed up with the conversations that went back and fourth from dumb comments and arguements. If you think I should add something on the first page, let me know. I'd be glad to. Thanks for all your help and patience on helping me learn more about my turbo!
