The engine vibrates and moves quite a bit. It's there to support it to prevent cracking under operating temperature when driving hard. Some companies don't feel the need for it, some do. I think at this point its more of a "preventative" type thing to ensure vibration and movement won't cause a crack.

Aftermarket header walls are thinner than the stock header hence why they're loud as well. My JDL UEL will have a new braided flex section because the original flex bellows rattled.

For what it's worth, FA20Club and P&L's headers are both schedule 10 pipe, very thick, also heavy, but I can't imagine one of those ever failing. I've got the P&L but I've been watching this closely, really looking forward to a release and final results.

With how long it's been, it could end up making 350 whp and the glorious trumpets from heaven sound causes all panties to drop in a 3 block radius, and people will still be all 'That's it?'

I think engineers can still understand the "time to market" concept and usually have to work with specific customer requirements, not just go all out and dvelop the best'est header ever. Developing a header for ages so it gives customers an extra 1whp doesn't sound like a very good engineering solution for the general public. So I call this the Duke Nukem Forever of headers.

As much as I've bitched about this header not being released.... I just had a kid and it's colder than a witches tit in the winter here so I won't do anything until late spring anyway.

It would be really nice for canyon and short autoX courses to have the power band broader. Also would make me happy to shut up all the Honda fanboys.
