USDM 6AT OpenFlash Support Now Available!

I can only speak for myself but I've been pretty busy with 6MT support/map development for the past couple of weeks. But I finally found the time to test a 6AT last night on the dyno and the results were great. I'll let the owner post up his review/results.

As for 6AT support, it's ready. A couple days ago, I went to the local Toyota dealership and read the newest 6AT software version (ZA1JA01D). Only with that file in hand, I had a base for all our tuned maps. So I spent yesterday morning creating the XDF file for it. And the afternoon, porting over our Stg1 mapping info. So that means that we are finally done with 6AT support. From this point onwards, it will get map releases at the same time as 6MT.

Also worth noting that the 6AT I dyno tested last night made nearly the same power as a similarly modified 6MT. I don't know where this rumor that 6ATs make significantly less power started from. But it doesn't seem to be true

Cheers,
Shiv

For the first few days of 6AT support, I'd like to handle everything through email (shiv@vishnutuning.com) rather than posting them up. I just want to play things safe until I confirm that the newest ROM version is compatible will all 6AT ECUs just as it is with 6MT ECUs.

There was a reference in another thread that the fix was released to a limited area, which did not include the USA.

When you load the modified (with your changes) to the OFT, do you see a message in OpenFlash manager software saying "checksum has been corrected"?

I never heard that one. The auto is slower but that is due to gearing.

Not sure if anyone else may be having a similar issue but here is what's happening:

1) I received my OpenFlash Tablet FA20 for my Scion and downloaded the stock ROM into the tablet as shown on the video.

2) Then I followed the second video and uploaded the stock ROM into the OpenFlash Manager (OFM). It seems to have loaded successfully, however, it does not show the CAL or the VIN/SN. It does show "IDS_PRESENT" in the "Original File" window of the OFM.

3) As it does not show the CAL, I am unsure of what tune to download, however, I try to see if any of the tunes will upload into the "Modified #1" window.

4) As it happens, the only tune to successfully load is the "Stg 1 Stock Intake ZA1J700C.bin" tune (it showed the checksum box window as shown in the video). I tried to load the other tunes and they will not load.

5) Can Rombinhood@OpenFlash or @shiv@vishnu verify whether I did things right and what the next steps should be? Seems strange that it does not show the stock Calibration nor VIN or SN. See attached file.

Thanks!

I had a Vishnu Procede tune on my BMW 135i and was very happy with that.

Please forgive my ignorance, I'm new to tuning and don't know much about it.

I'm getting a turbo kit soon, and I've been researching for a long time now. It seems Ecutek is the most used platform for tuning FI on our cars, but many say it's because it's the only one available right now.

Is the Open Flash product another alternative to Ecutek? Honestly, Ecutek scares me. My tuner hasn't used it yet, and also hasn't tuned an 86, much less a turboed one.

Will established 86 tuners like FB or FA86club be able to use your product remotely to tune my car if i GO that route?
