I guess it's good to see something new for the mini-hatch lovers out there, but I can't stand the look of this car. Is 24k a decent starting price for this? Meh, I dunno. I heard these things have already been maxed out on pre-orders in Japan.

I see that Spoon and HKS have already started on their CRZs. Will have to wait and see if either of them can help this thing out. But so far, I don't like this car at all.

The interior is nice, but then I saw the third shot of the interior and my brain instantly said, "Wait... wut?" I mean what is the point of putting a back seat in there? Only people that could fit back there are toddlers. Hell, the only way I see that thing seating four people is if they're all under 5'3" or something.

The JDM CR-Z is coming with rear seats. The USDM CR-Z will have a storage compartment instead.

Spoon Starts to Tune 2011 Honda CR-Z

Quote:
The 2011 Honda CR-Z hybrid-powered sports coupe isn't scheduled to hit U.S. shores until this summer, but it hasn’t stopped tuners from developing performance parts for Honda's latest hybrid. We've already shown you what Honda's Mugen tuning arm has done to the car, now Spoon Sports is showing off its take on the hybrid coupe, releasing a set of photos showing off its development work.

Spoon looks to be developing several new parts for the CR-Z. Blue-colored aluminum wheels coupled with a lowered ride height are the two upgrades most obvious from the photos. Spoon also looks to be upgrading the CR-Z’s brakes, along with adding new dampers and a performance-tuned exhaust system.

Spoon’s official website also indicates it is working on adding some power to the little CR-Z, although we don’t yet know the extent of the modifications. The tuner also mentions “drivetrain” upgrades -- how they intend to modify Honda’s hybrid driveline will be interesting to see. Spoon also says it will offer “body reinforcement,” and we wouldn’t be surprised to see carbon fiber hoods, front lip spoilers, and custom side skirts for the CR-Z in the near future.

The company hasn’t provided any official word as to when the upgrades will be available, but since development has just started, we’d look for an official announcement later this year.

Spy Shots: Noblesse takes tuned Honda CR-Z to Suzuka for testing [w/video]

Noblesse-tuned Honda CR-Z on-track – Click above to watch video after the jump

Quote:
A couple of days ago, we wrote about the specs for the 2011 Honda CR-Z, and most commenters weren't all that impressed. Spoon then let a little bit slip about what it was doing to make the hybrid coupe a little more engaging, but those were merely words. Now we have what is said to be track footage of Japanese tuner Noblesse in one of their tuned CR-Zs at Suzuka, and it might put people in a mind to at least reserve judgment.

It's all in-car video, and yes, Noblesse is primarily known for their bodykit work, not for actual performance parts. All which makes this footage a little tough to gauge, but there were moments when we did find ourselves thinking, "Hey, this could be something." And yes, we will only accept fully blacked-out CR-Zs from now on. Follow the jump for some Suzuka lapping, and have a look at it in the gallery of high-res photos below. Thanks for the tip and images, Chris!

I don't like the storage compartments idea. The back seats will basically be used for storage anyway(throw crap back there when you get in the car). But at least insurance is cheaper when there are technically back seats.

Learn to count... three threads started by you mentioning the CR-Z in the title. IMO, that's three too many since there already was a previous thread about that car.

And as I've said in the past, if you think your re-posting after re-posting of Autoblog news (that anybody here can look at) of cars that totally don't relate to the price range or purpose of the FT-86 is "contributing" something, then you are misguided.

apparently, according to a translated chinese review of the car, it doesn't understeer, has good grip and turns like a RWD... I have absolutely no idea how it is this way but thats what the translated review claims.
http://hk.news.yahoo.com/article/100309/3/gxs9.html

the review is coming from hong kong.

Damn Honda, what have you done!?!

I used to be part of the FF club back in the days. The trusty B18 DC2 had it's fair share of AWD GSX's and MR2's! No
