I have Ti brake shims for the Essex AP Racing kit but I haven't had the chance to test them out. This thread reminded me to go out and buy the temp strips or paint. Maybe for the streets I can test if they work by using shims only on 1 side.

Hmm, that makes sense. Good point. And corner entry speed is probably lower so you need to scrub more speed off during braking. I wonder if anyone has objective data on this.

As you know, we both don't even have dust boots on our AP Sprint kit. The reason I bought Ti shims is because from what I know, reducing heat to the caliper area will help reduce the need for servicing them. I don't understand all the science but that's what I read. I know the shims aren't magic and it will only help a tad but it's still better then nothing
