Bondurant Autocross Day Nov. 9th (Arizona)

Alright guys ACE Corvette Club is doing an autocross and has told me they would welcome additional participants who might like to run the Bondurant Course.

I will copy and paste all the information, so far they don't mind what skill level as Bondurant will have instructors out there but they do want mechanically sound vehicles that are not leaking fluid. I would also recommend your own helmet but they have plenty of loaners on site should you need one.

I will be there with the FR-S and the Vette, plus we have a few others joining us from AZFBA and supposedly a few RX-8's that want to show the Vette's a few things. Basically were going to have a blast and all ribbing is in good natured fun.

Yes you can pay the day of, no deposit is needed and there is no penalty. There is a limit of 50, however if we go over 30 it will be less than 100 per driver which means any lesser amount will be refunded to each person.

They are only asking at this point for those serious to let them know if you really intend on going so they can get an accurate head count. Maybe's are fine but indicate that to us in advance.

Quote:
November 9th 2013
8am to 1pm or there abouts
Bondurant autocross track with some added skidpad area for extra course...
2 Bondurant instructors on site (for insurance purposes)

30 drivers will be $100 per driver.

Helmets will be required (Bondurant has a room full of loaners)
Drifting will be approved by the instructors if they feel you have control of your car (and senses)

Also Bondurant should have their fleet of C7's by then, we're not sure if they will be used or just drooled on but the plan is to maybe setup an ACE demo day soon for anyone wanting to get more intimate with GM's new hotrod.

There my be a little group instruction first before we get started but it should not be anything major. Just one of those Legal Requirements.
This event is one other clubs can work towards setting up. The Corvette group putting this on already has a history with Bondurant so I am not sure if that will make a difference on them letting others do it but I am sure it doesn't hurt to ask. In the mean time this event is scheduled and they have opened up for a few others to join.

This is the Track, no Cones full track. The reason this costs a little more is because of that, the smaller run group and the fact that we're going to stay there pretty much all day until we get board.

Why cant we have our own club run there, might even be cool to have a learning course for those who want to learn advanced driving techniques

The Corvette Group and Bondurant has a relationship that's already established. Plus it helps that they already do things such as Corvette's on Bondurant every year and Johnny O'Connell is such a Corvette Enthusiast. (I am posting up the flyer for the Corvette's On Bondurant event that Johnny O'Connell does every year, it is not for this Autocross event)
ATTEN: THIS FLYER IS NOT FOR THE AUTOCROSS EVENT! Its a reference for the above explanation.

I am not saying its not possible it does happen but having that ground work already in place really helps.

It is certainly something that can be worked towards but for now this one is already setup and happening and they have opened up for others to join in. You have some time to plan a head and join in on the fun. Then from there you can see if something can be arranged for a meet directly tied to the AZ86 group if you like.

Ok I got a few answers for those who PM'd me and figured I would update the main post.

Its the Bondurant Track I will get a picture. This is not a cone course although we can use the Skid Pad too.

I'm interested. Can you explain why this is so much more expensive than a typical autocross?

Thats for the Corvette only 2 day event driving your own car all day (8am to 5pm) and them feeding you, it was an example to the question of why can't another group do it. Not for the Autocross as the first post shows the Autocross day is 100 per car at 30 people.

Yes less cars, an actual track not cones, private group with really no rules other than don't be a retard and a lot more time to run.

SCCA Run at Marana Airport cost me 65 I think once all was said and done. I had to sit in the rain watching cones but I did have fun... I would have much rather not had to sit in the rain and just run all day with hardly any interruptions.
It was a lot of fun don't get me wrong but a private group on a full track vs a big airplane parking area off a dirt road with cones is just well... not the same.

So far we have over 30 drivers registered. This means it will be less than 100 per driver.

Tomorrow 8am Gate 3 see you there.
