Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's not how that joke works. The trick is to blame Obama for something that happened recently yet couldn't possibly be related to the POTUS. Being racially profiled as a potential criminal due to skin and/or clothing isn't new enough. Even if it started recently happening to you, it's not new enough for the joke to work. People have been doing that before President Obama was even born. Hence why it's not funny.

For example:

Gas prices are dropping to $3 a gallon here now that we're not going to bomb Syria. I paid 2.75 a gallon for E85 yesterday and felt like a freaking moron. DAMMIT OBAMA!

I had trouble falling asleep last night because just as I was losing consciousness, you know the time when you get all your great ideas, I got a great idea. I think I figured out a way to save about $3,000 on mods for my car and make it even lighter than had I spent the $3,000. Then I couldn't go to sleep for like 2 more hours after that. Sonofabitch.
