Got my first damn door ding today after only 3 months of having the car. I know exactly who did it also, I just didn't know they had dinged my door until I got home. I had my car parked at a suspension shop and unfortunately they had a very small parking lot so parking far away wasn't an option. 5 min after I had parked there I saw a big white SUV park close to by car and then this uppity woman rushed out of her car and into the shop.

This is what she left me with. You can't see it from about 10 ft away, but knowing it's there is enough to bug me.

Just spend 30 bucks and get one of these http://amzn.to/1fgaqFJ ..for my lexus they gave me some card to call some company each time I have dings, but they usually take a long time to come. The one time I had them come they pretty much had that dent fixer thing that I posted above with them.

Damn!! That's practically the exact spot of my small dent I got on my red opti-guarded BRZ in my office parking lot last week. I can kinda guess who it is but I know it's accidental as the sheet metal is so soft that a slight bump would cause a painful dent. I was going to wait for a few more to accumulate but it bugged me to no end.

So I bought this - http://www.harborfreight.com/crossba...kit-66957.html for $9. Last Sat, I tried it and it did work, somewhat. However, because the body is relatively soft, the two rubber pads in itself, would slightly depress the sides. In hindsight, I should have not used the crossbar but instead just pulled on it by hand. Because the dent is so small and slight, it would have worked beautifully.

Come out, see this:
That's the same kind of person that sits next to you on an empty train!

10 months in and still no dings luckily. I tend to park away from people although sometimes that's unavoidable.

Has anybody tried the dry ice method? Heat the area with a blow dryer for 1 minute and then apply some dry ice to the afflicted area. I want to give this a shot, but am wondering if anybody else has tried it yet?

That and the canned air trick works sometimes with circular dents , but I doubt it would do much with a vertical door ding .

But since I have a minor door ding I will try it and post results. :happy0180:

Ah

Only had my car for a month. I was sitting in my car when this old Asian grandma swings her door right into my driver side. Proceeded to close my eyes in pain and begin squirming like I just got shot. Couldn't yell at an old lady who was just a passenger. She did apologize but said there wasn't a small scratch, although I didn't want to point out to her that there definitely was a dent. Ahhh.

Will go for some pdr.
