Fr Susp noise on gravel or bad pavement.
When driving on gravel roads or cracked/shitty pavement at speeds under 15 mph a rattle like sound emanates from the underneath the front of the vehicle, It can also be felt as a sort of vibration through the floor board/gas pedal and somewhat through the steering wheel.
I've checked under the car and the ball joints seem tight, along with all suspension mounting bolts and skidplate bolts. The swaybar endlinks do not appear to have any looseness. So what am I hearing/feeling and has anyone else experienced this? I kinda wonder if the skidplate is amplifying some vibrations induced in the suspension. |

I have a "crushed rock" driveway and I hear the same thing. It is quite annoying and makes me wonder where the play is.

Guys don't worry, this is most likely ABS and / or traction control doing its best to maintain traction. You may also notice the lights on the dash in the event .
Feel free to research how advance technology has come on these systems to get a better understanding. Of course if you feel something is wrong seek your local dealer for answers. I hope this helps. |

Nope, I feel play in the suspension somewhere. (can't speak for the OP though) I am well aware of what the ABS/trac feels like. It does it whether i am coasting, accelerating or braking. I run in autocross commonly and I am more than aware what the technology you speak of feels like when it is in action haha.

The black fiber board is held by fasteners that allow movement. Removing each faster and placing a fiber washer solved it for me.

Maybe, I'm just trying to get feedback from more people who have driven their toyobaru in those situations to see if it's normal or not.

posted this in another thread with a similar issue.
check nuts on the bracing under the hood, but do not tighten them anything over 15lbs other wise you will sheer the stud off. mine were loose and shifting under load. sounded like I had toasted a ball joint. i added some rubber washers under the brace where it meets the body just in case. haven't heard anything since. |

Have this same issue. I’ll check the braces and report back.
